She was born June 16, 1921, in Epping, the daughter of the late Wallace and Myrtle (True) Illsley and had resided in Raymond since 1956. Mrs. Stevens taught school in Fremont, Brentwood and Deerfield retiring from the George B. White School in Deerfield after 32 years of teaching. She was president of the Raymond Historical Society; a member of the Maple Wheadon Post 4479 Ladies Auxiliary; and a founding member of the Raymond Boosters Club. She was active in town politics and was former chairman of the Raymond School Board. She was an avid golfer. The widow of Paul Stevens, who died in 1990, she is survived by one daughter and her husband, Linda and Fred Richard of Raymond; three grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; one sister-in-law, Eunice Stilkey of Epping; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sons, Perry Stevens and Peter Stevens. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the Brewitt Funeral Home, On the Common, Raymond, with the Rev. J. Chandler Newton officiating. Burial will follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery, Raymond.
