"Tom" Gouin PORTSMOUTH - Thomas C. "Tom" Gouin, 48, husband of Kim A. (McDonald) Gouin of 157 Richards Ave., died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2001 at his home. He was born in Northbridge, Mass., on April 6, 1952, the son of Bertha R. (Girouard) Gouin of North Uxbridge, Mass., and the late Louis A. Gouin. He was employed for 23 years at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard as a machinist foreman in Shop 31. He was an active member and past exalted ruler of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks No. 97 in Portsmouth; a volunteer for Pro Portsmouth for many years; and was active with the Instructional Baseball League for the Portsmouth Recreation Department. Tom was a fun-loving person who enjoyed life, camping and hiking. Besides his wife of 25 years and his mother, of North Uxbridge, Mass., survivors include, a son Seth T. Gouin of Portsmouth; two daughters, Amanda K. Gouin of Boston, Mass., and Joshelyn M. Gouin of Portsmouth; two sisters, Judith Curran of North Kinsgstown, R.I., and Linda Maslanka of Warwick, R.I.; three brothers, Robert D. Gouin of Forest, Va., Jack J.A. Gouin of East Calais, Vt., and Kevin W. Gouin of Hollywood, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews. A brother, Paul Gouin, predeceased him in 1996. GOUIN - Thomas C. Verne Wood Funeral Home-Buckminster Chapel, 84 Broad St., Portsmouth. Friends invited. Visiting hours will be held from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the chapel prior to the service, with Elks services at 4:30 p.m. by BPOE #97. Please omit flowers.
