Stickney, 74, of the McKee Inn, died on Monday morning, Jan. 15, 2001, at the Country Village Health Care Center in Lancaster. Mr. Stickney was a lifetime resident of Lancaster, born there on Feb. 12, 1926, the son of Bernard and Muriel (Covell) Stickney. He was a graduate of Lancaster Academy and at one time worked for the Groveton Paper Company. For many years he was employed with the New Hampshire Department of Transportation in various capacities, including engineering technician and surveyor. He was a past member and announcer for the White Mountain Riding Club. He announced at many horse shows for the club, including those at the Lancaster Fair. He was a parishioner of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Lancaster. He was also a member of the Masons and the Elks’ Club. Family members include a son, Stephen Stickney, of Wichita, Kansas. His wife, Anna (Bergeron) Stickney, died in 1991. There are no calling hours. Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Donations may be made in his memory to the St. Paul’s Flower Fund, St. Paul’s Church, Lancaster, or to a charity of one’s choice.
