Born in Detroit, he was the son of Mansel and Georgia (Brewster) Corwin. He attended schools in Michigan, and was a graduate of Ferndale High School. He studied forestry at Northern Michigan University and Oakland Community College. He studied surveying at several Florida colleges after moving there with his family. He served with the U.S. Navy, working in aircraft maintenance. He was employed for more than 20 years in surveying and related occupations. He attained his CNA certificate, and worked at several health care facilities in southern Maine, including The Homestead in Kittery. He had a passion for the outdoors, and enjoyed sailing, hunting and fly-fishing. Family members said he will be remembered for the joy and laughter he brought to all who knew him because of a unique sense of humor and compassion for people. Survivors include his wife, Sharon Gould Brown Corwin of Sanford; a daughter, Karen Corwin Levos, of Novi, Mich.; a sister, Carolyn Corwin Lebrun of Ellsworth; and two grandsons, Joshua Levos and Luke Levos, both of Novi, Mich.
