Pinette LUNENBURG - Bernard L. Pinette, 66, of Pond Hill Road, died on Friday afternoon, Feb. 2, 2001, at St. Johnsbury Health and Rehabilitation Center after a long illness. Mr. Pinette was born in Waterville, Me. on Feb. 21, 1934, the son of Leo and Evelyn (Fitzmorris) Pinette. Raised in Waterville he later moved to Lunenburg and married Geraldine E. McLaughlin on May 7, 1955. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. For 10 years he was employed at Gilman Paper Company and for 32 years he drove a truck for Miles Pond Company, Whitefield, retiring in 1999. He was a lifetime member of John W. Weeks Post #3041, Lancaster. Family members include his wife, Gerry of Lunenburg; a son, John Pinette of Littleton; a brother, Lawrence Hurd of Southington, Conn.; five sisters, Pat Roy of Revere, Mass., Rachel Raven of Maine, Margaret Fortin of New Britain, Conn., Kathy Michaurd of Putney, Conn., Arlene Hurd of Revere, Mass.; three grandchildren, and a very special niece, Melanie Cate of St. Johnsbury. He was predeceased by a son, James Pinette, in 1997. A funeral service was held on Monday at the Gilman Methodist Church. The Rev. Gerry Piper, pastor, officiated. Burial will be in the spring in Riverside Cemetery in South Lunenburg.
