Hartshorn GOFFSTOWN - Clinton H. Hartshorn, 75, died at Catholic Medical Center Feb. 13, 2001. He was born on March 16, 1925, in Gilman, Vt., to Murry and Hazel (Rivers) Hartshorn. He served in the Marine Corps in World War II and participated in the battle of Iwo Jima, for which he received the Purple Heart. Mr. Hartshorn moved to Goffstown in 1946. He was a retiree of the Public Service Company of New Hampshire after 38 years of employment. He was a past patron of the Martha Washington Chapter 46, Order of the Eastern Star; a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Bektash Temple Shrine. He was also the historian for the North Country chapter of the Iwo Jima Survivors Association, the I.O.O.F. Webster Lodge 24 of Goffstown, and an avid gardener, walker, reader and woodworker. Members of the family include his wife of 24 years, Carlene (Watson) Rausch-Hartshorn of Goffstown; two stepsons, Robert G. Rausch Jr. of Norcross, Ga., and Carl W. Rausch of Belmont, Mass.; a stepdaughter, Elizabeth A. Forsburgh of Des Moines, Iowa; a brother, Lawrence Hartshorn of Gilman, Vt.; and eight step-grandchildren. The funeral services were held on Saturday with the Rev. Janet Heslam of the Congregational Church of Goffstown officiating. Spring burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery of Lunenburg, Vt.
