Sachse FRANCONIA - Charles William Sachse, of Franconia, died on Sunday, Feb. 4, 2001 after a well-fought battle with cancer. Born on July 29, 1929 to Daniel C. Sachse and Margaret Tressler Sachse of Conyngham, Penn., he married Joan Rosanne Anderson of New York City, N.Y. His career in hotel management spanned from the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania to the Treadway Inn of Cambridge, Mass., to the Mittersill Alpine Resort of Franconia, and the Indies Inn in the Florida Keys. For the past ten years he served as marketing director for the Weathervane Theatre in Whitefield. He also enjoyed his time as a school bus driver in the Franconia area. Charles was predeceased by his wife, Joan Rosanne, in 1984. He is survived by two brothers, Daniel Sachse of Lewisburg, Penn., and Clark Sachse of Scottsdale, Ariz.; five children, Barbara L. Sachse of Conyngham, Penn., Joanne S. Mogren of Sugar Hill, Patricia Sachse Brown of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Peg S. Ramback of Bethlehem, and Richard W. Sachse of Conyngham, Penn.; and 9 grandchildren. A memorial celebration of his life will be held later in the summer at the family’s discretion.
