Atwood, 44, of Parker Road died on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2001, at his residence. He was born in Haverhill, Mass., the son of Douglas and Maureen (Magee) Atwood. He grew up in Danville, Vt., and graduated from Danville High School. He was a pipe fitter and welder. He was a brother of the Local Union 131 for welders. He most recently worked for Alstom C-E Services Inc. out of Windsor, Conn. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, golf, and riding his motorcycle. He is survived by his wife, Lyndi (Richard) Atwood, of Twin Mountain; two daughters, Heather and Cassandra Atwood, both of Brunswick, Me.; stepdaughter Cassandra Cummings of Poland, Me.; a brother, Jay Atwood; and three sisters, Sharon Arahovites of Haverhill, Mass., Susan Atwood of Newburyport, Mass. and Lauren Payette of Hampton. Friends and family may gather at the Ross Funeral Home, Whitefield Chapel, today (Wednesday) from 10 a.m. to noon. Funeral services will be held immediately after at the funeral home, with the Rev. Lyn McIntosh officiating. Interment will take place in the spring at the Straw Cemetery.
