Ralph WOODGATE, N.Y. - George F. Ralph, 84, of 5063 Elmwood Road, died Monday, Feb. 5, 2001, at the Masonic Nursing Home, Utica, N.Y., after a lengthy illness. He was born in Utica, the son of the late Wilbur B. and Edith E. Ralph. He was a graduate of New Hartford High School and attended Union University. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving as an artillery sergeant in the Pacific theater. Mr. Ralph owned the former Trenton Diner in Mapledale Plaza, Barneveld, N.Y., and several other businesses. He served as the scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts of American; was a trustee of the Unitarian Church; and past master of Remsen Lodge No. 677, F. & A.M. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing with his family. He is survived by his wife, Roseleen (Sauer) Ralph; one daughter and her husband, Mary and Leo Bergeron of Rollinsford; five sons and three daughters-in-law, Robert Redmond of Ballston Lake, N.Y., Wilbur and Joyce Ralph of Epping, Myron and Dorothy Ralph of West Leyden, N.Y., Edward Ralph of Woodgate, and Joseph and Annie Ralph of Spring Valley, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Private services were held Wednesday. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice, Inc., 4277 Middle Settlement Road, New Hartford, NY 13413 or to the Masonic Home, 2150 Bleecker St., Utica, NY 13501-1788.
