Beattie BRISTOL, Conn. - Helen B. (Reed) Beattie, of Bristol, Conn., loving wife of Donald J.J. Beattie, died on Monday, Feb. 12, 2001, at Bristol Hospital. She was born in Concord, Vt., a daughter of the late Reginald and Aris (Bonnett) Reed. A Bristol resident for the past 58 years, she was employed at General Electric in Plainville, Conn., for 25 years before retiring in 1990, and was a member of the GE Girls’ Club. Survivors include three sons, Edward Beattie of Harwinton, Conn., James Beattie of Wethersfield, Conn., and Thomas Beattie of Canton, Conn.; three daughters, Carol Howes of Plantsville, Barbara Bukowski of Albuquerque, N.M., and Donna Allen of Plainville, Conn.; a brother, Willard Reed of St. Johnsbury; three sisters, Joyce Canton of East Hartford, Vt., Louise Welcome of North Concord, Vt., and Mildred Fournier of Concord, Vt.; 10 grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. A funeral service was held on Feb. 14 in Bristol, Conn., with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol.
