Born on March 7, 1987 in Colebrook, she was the daughter of Ricky Cross and Penny (McKeage) Rancourt. Miss Cross was an eighth-grader at Stewartstown Community School at the time of her death. She was an aspiring veterinarian who loved animals, photography, skiing, playing basketball and soccer. She enjoyed listening to music, especially the Back Street Boys and Lonestar. She enjoyed making people laugh and was elected "Class Clown" at school last year. Heather liked to spend time with her cousins and was always looking for ways to help other people out. She is survived by her parents; a brother, Ryan Rancourt, of Colebrook; two sisters, Rachel and Cheryl Cross, both of West Stewartstown; maternal grandparents Brendan and Crystal McKeage of Pittsburg; paternal grandmother Janice Cross of Colebrook; uncles and aunts Brendan and Wanda McKeage of Pittsburg, Ricky and Tanya McKeage of Pittsburg, and Rick and Stephanie Dube of Pittsburg; and three cousins. Calling hours were held on Monday, February 12 at the Newman Funeral Home in Colebrook. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, February 13, at the Trinity Methodist Church in Colebrook. Interment will be in the spring at the Hollow Cemetery in Stewarts town. Those who wish to make donations in memory of Heather Ann Cross may send donations to the North Country Humane Society, RR#3, Box 314, Colebrook, NH 03576. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Newman Funeral Home.
