Emmons, 77, of South Berwick, Maine, died on Sunday, February 4, 2001 at the Varney Crossing Nursing Center in North Berwick. Born in Biddeford on December 11, 1923, he was the son of Harold and Vivian (Bernis) Emmons. He was a former resident of Berwick prior to moving here more than 17 years ago. Prior to his retirement in 1989 he was a tool and die maker for the Janco Company, where he worked for 25 years. He is survived by his wife Dorothy (Lynch) Emmons of South Berwick; three sons and their wives, George and Cathy Emmons of South Berwick and their children Shannon and Hannah, Scott and Bonnie Emmons of North Berwick and their children Dayna, Trevor, Riley and Alexandra, Mark and Anne Emmons of Sanford and their children Heather, Kelsey and Courtney; three daughters, Lana Emmons of Salem, Mass, Sharlene and Gary Day of Berwick and Merri and Charles Chase of South Berwick and their children Robert and Thomas; his sister-in-law and friend, Mabel Lynch of Colebrook; an aunt, Shirley Casey, and her family of Yorktown Heights, N.Y.; and several cousins. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Those who wish to make memorial donations in his name may do so to either the South Berwick Emergency Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 157, South Berwick, ME 03908, or to the Varney Crossing Nursing Care Center, 47 Elm St., North Berwick, ME 03906. Arrangements are by the McIntire-McCooey Funeral Home of South Berwick.
