Cleveland Sr., 64, of West Stewartstown, died on Saturday morning, February 3, 2001, at the Coös County Nursing Hospital in West Stewartstown. Mr. Cleveland was born on June 1, 1936 in Somerville, Mass., the son of the late Otis and Mary (Shannahan) Cleveland. He was the owner and operator of Cleveland Machine Company. He played hockey as a youth and later played for the Providence Bruins, the minor league team for the Boston Bruins. During his service in the Army, he was recognized for his marksmanship in the Presidents 100 Team. He was an active member of the Elks B.P.O.E. #2044 in Tewksbury, Mass., and was an outdoorsman and avid collector of guns. Mr. Cleveland is survived by two sons, Paul Cleveland Jr. of Columbia and Shawn Cleveland of Woburn, Mass.; a daughter, Fay Swanberry of Atkinson, N.H.; five grandchildren, Katie, Andrew, Stacy, Jill and Matthew; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. There will be no calling hours. Private family services will be held at a later date. Donations may be made to the Coös County Nursing Hospital, c/o Suzanne Collins, West Stewartstown, NH 03597. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Jenkins Funeral Home in Colebrook.
