Fieldsend Sr. EXETER - Russell J. Fieldsend Sr., 94, of 50 Newfields Road, died Friday, Feb. 16, 2001, at the Rockingham County Nursing Home, Brentwood, after being admitted Feb. 13. He was born Sept. 22, 1906, in Exeter one of 14 children of Albert and Deborah (Shannon) Fieldsend. Mr. Fieldsend operated Blue Ribbon Dry Cleaners of Exeter, a family business which has been in operation for four generations. He also ran a fish market from his home and was a school bus driver in Exeter. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a communicant of St. Michael Church, Exeter, and was a member of the Order of the Red Men. He is survived by his wife, Rosamond (Nichols) Fieldsend of Exeter, with whom he would have celebrated 75 years of marriage in April; two sons, Russell J. Fieldsend Jr. and Donald Fieldsend, both of Exeter; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Rose Loomins, Lillian Davis and Emma Hunkins, all of Portsmouth, and Ruth Bernard of Methuen, Mass.; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one daughter, Mary Klemarczyk, who died in 1953. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Brewitt Funeral Home, 14 Pine St., Exeter. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Michael Church. Burial will follow in Exeter Cemetery.
