Born on June 13, 1909, in Barrington, she was the daughter of the late Gerald and Vinnie Mae (Smallcon) Davis. She graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1926 and received her teaching certificate from Keene Normal School in 1929 after a three-year program. She returned to Keene Teaching College, formerly Keene Normal School, where she received her bachelor's of education in 1963. She taught mathematics for 36 years at Thayer High School in Winchester and later became the assistant principal, where she remained for 22 years. She was the treasurer of the Winchester School District for 31 years. Family members include her husband of 63 years, Wesley Earle Dickinson; one daughter, Joanne D. Tanner of Melbourne, Fla.; two grandsons, Mark Tanner and Eric Tanner; one great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Marie Tanner; one brother, Norman Davis of New Port Richey, Fla.; and two nieces. The Cremation Society of New Hampshire is in charge of arrangements.
