Goupee ISLAND POND, Vt. - Vera Annie Goupee, 81, of Island Pond, died Feb. 12, 2001, at the Maple Lane Nursing Home in Barton, Vt. She was born on April 26, 1919, in Island Pond, the daughter of the late John and Annie (Langmaid) O’Keeffe. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and VFW Auxiliary in Island Pond. She was a member of the Island Pond Historical Society and actively involved in the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program in Groveton, Island Pond and Newport, Vt. She was predeceased by her husband, Anthony Goupee Sr.; a brother, Lawrence "Muscles" O’Keeffe; three sisters, Charlotte Hall, Doris Lafoe, and Ruby Richardson; and one grandson. She is survived by her children all of Island Pond, Anthony Goupee Jr., Gerald Goupee, Betty Gilfillan, and Gloria Moses; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, David O’Keeffe of Newport, and Cecil "Cheeko" O’Keeffe of Island Pond; a sister, Leatrice Jackson of West Burke, Vt.; and a special friend, Nathan Herrick.
