Born in Winstead, Conn., she was the daughter of Earl and Lucy (Davis) Davis. She was a graduate of South Royalton, (Vermont) High School. She married the late Harold George in 1935 and spent the remainder of her life in Colebrook. Mrs. George worked for many years at Stickney's Drug Store in Colebrook and participated as a US Census taker for several decades. Mrs. George was a member of the Colebrook Congregational Church. She was well known for the beautiful flower gardens around her house. Frequently, she would give away flowers to friends and relatives, along with fudge and mincemeat. She loved the North Country and especially liked taking rides in the country with her late husband. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. John (Norma) Monbouquette, of West Dennis, Mass.; two sisters, Ruth Savage of Vermont and Lucille Serfass of Hooksett; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. George was predeceased by her husband, Harold; four brothers, Roland, Neil, Roger and Richard; and three sisters Doris, Lila and Pauline. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Mrs. George's name to the Coös County Nursing Hospital, c/o Sue Collins, P.O. Box 10, West Stewartstown, NH 03597. There are no calling hours. Funeral services will be announced at a later date. Interment will be in the spring at Colebrook Village Cemetery.
