Bailey ISLAND POND, Vt. - Eva Mae Bailey, 86, of Whitefield, formerly of Island Pond, Vt., died in Lancaster on Friday, March 30, 2001. She was born in Island Pond on May 24, 1914, the daughter of Earl and Annie (Ladd) Applebee. Eva was a 1931 graduate of Brighton High School in Island Pond and lived in Island Pond for 70 years. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Island Pond, a member of the Island Pond Historical Society, and a member of the Eastern Star Island Pond North Star Chapter #25 since 1934. On Feb. 24, 1937, Eva married Clayton Bailey, who died on Oct. 17, 1975. She is survived by her daughters, Dawn Meunier of Groveton and Lorraine Flores of Wilder, Vt.; her brother, Riley Applebee of Newport, Vt.; 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter, Carol Ann Cameron, on June 27, 1984, by her brother, Andrew Applebee, on Jan. 4, 1992, by her sister, Evelyn Ladd Marshall, on June 26, 1998, and by her parents.
