Guay BERLIN - Ezelbert F. Guay, 87, formerly of 12 Coolidge St., Berlin, died on March 4, 2001 at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin. He was born in Berlin on Aug. 14, 1913, the son of Alfred and Lydia (Leclerc) Guay and was a lifelong resident of Berlin. Prior to his retirement he owned and operated Guay & Drouin’s Men’s Clothing Store in Berlin for 38 years. Mr. Guay was a member of St. Joseph Church, now known as Good Shepherd Parish, and sang in the choir at St. Joseph for many years. He was a longtime member and past president of the Lions Club in Berlin. Mr. Guay was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the White Mountain Post 2520 VFW in Berlin. He had been active in Boy Scouts in past years and active at the Notre Dame Arena with Monsignor Lozier. Family members include his wife, Mrs. Irene (Gosselin) Guay of Berlin; a daughter, Mrs. Lucille Nolin of Berlin; a son, Richard Guay of Berlin; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Emily Hamel of Milan; and a brother, Roland Guay of Rochester; nieces, nephews and cousins. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated today (Wednesday) at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish.
