Woodward DUMMER - Eugene Carroll Woodward, 79, of Hawkins Road, died on March 3, 2001, at Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin after a sudden illness. Born Aug. 12, 1921, in Milan, he was the son of Maurice A. and Queenie M. (Ellinwood) Woodward. He lived in Dummer for most of his life. Prior to his retirement, he was a truck driver for Howard Doucette. Mr. Woodward was an Army veteran of World War II. He was the recipient of the Purple Heart, Bronze Star and four battle stars. He was a member of White Mountain Post 2520 Veterans of Foreign Wars in Berlin. He was a member of the Dummer Community Church. Mr. Woodward was an avid hunter and fisherman. Members of the family include his wife, Ramona (Hawkins) Woodward of Dummer; two sons, Gregory C. Woodward of Lancaster and Maurice C. Woodward of Dummer; and a stepbrother, Maurice Holt of Dummer. The funeral service was held on Tuesday in the chapel at the Funeral Home.
