"Scotty" Scott, 68, of Groveton, died at Weeks Memorial Hospital in Lancaster after a brief illness. Born on January 26, 1933 in West Stewartstown, the son of Earl and Esther (Covell) Scott, he was a resident of Groveton most of his life. Before retiring in 1983, he worked for James River Corp. for 33 years. He then went into business for himself running Scottıs Construction. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose No. 1621, Groveton. He enjoyed four-wheeling, snowmachining, hunting and fishing. He loved his camps at Maidstone Lake and Little Wheeler Pond. The family includes his wife of 46 years, Alice (White) Scott of Groveton; three daughters, Sherry Brault of Freedom; and Sheryl Scott and Shelly Paquette, both of Groveton; four grandchildren; a brother, Erwin Scott of Chicopee, Mass.; a sister, Cora Davenport of Stratford Hollow; a half-brother, Frank Wood of Holyoke, Mass.; two half-sisters, Maxine Rummel of Colorado Springs, Colo. and Sheila Yacsetic of Penn.; an uncle and three aunts; and nieces, nephews and cousins. There were no calling hours. Services were held on Tuesday at the Main-Armstrong Funeral Home, 59 State Street in Groveton with the Reverend Alta Chase, officiating. Burial will be in the spring in the Northumberland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made sent to the Groveton Ambulance Corp, c/o E.R.
