She was born in Woodsville on October 19, 1914, the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. S.K. Dearborn. She resided in Groveton since 1934. Mrs. Main attended grammar school and high school in Woodsville and four years at Keene State College, where she received a bachelor's degree in education. She taught school in Lisbon, and during World War II she taught in Lisbon and Stratford. She was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon sorority, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, a charter member of the United Methodist Women, and a member of the Groveton Garden Club. She and her husband, James Main, were married atop Mount Washington on June 30, 1938. Calling hours were held on Friday, March 9, at the Main-Armstrong Funeral Home in Groveton. The funeral was held at the United Methodist Church in Groveton on Saturday, with Reverend Alta Chase officiating. Burial will be in the Stratford Center Cemetery in the spring. Flowers are welcome, or memorial donations may be made to the charity of onešs choice.
