Dwinell STEWARTSTOWN - Dwight A. "Bub" Dwinell, 51, of Washington Street, West Stewartstown, died on April 22, 2001 in Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon, after a lengthy illness. Born in West Stewartstown on July 27, 1949, he was the son of Cleo and Alice (Stone) Dwinell. He was a lifelong West Stewartstown resident. In 1967, he graduated from Canaan Memorial High School. In addition, he earned an associate’s degree in accounting from Laurel College, Meriden, Conn. Mr. Dwinell worked for First Colebrook Bank. He also drove a school bus for Nugent Motor and Bus Service and taught driver’s education at Canaan Memorial High School and Colebrook Academy. He served as selectman for West Stewartstown. Mr. Dwinell was first elected in 1983 and was re-elected this year. He was a member of the Sons of The American Legion. Mr. Dwinell helped with bingo and tended bar for Post 147, The American Legion, Canaan, Vt. Mr. Dwinell enjoyed golf at the Colebrook Country Club, the Balsams and in tournaments at Myrtle Beach, S.C. Family members include three sisters, Linda Thompson of Grand Isle, Vt., Norma Gray of Kittery, Me., and Jennifer Owen of Canaan, Vt. Calling hours were held on Tuesday in Jenkins Funeral Home. The funeral is today (Wednesday) at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. The Rev. Robert D. Bryan will officiate. Burial will be in Alice Hunt Cemetery, Canaan, Vt. Memorial donations may be made to the Dennis Joos Memorial Library, Washington Street, West Stewartstown, NH 03597.
