Marsh COLUMBIA - Florence M. Marsh, 83, died on April 7, 2001, at Coös County Nursing Hospital in West Stewartstown after a long illness. Born on Sept. 19, 1917, in Manchester, she was the daughter of George C. and Malvina (Parent) Penniman. After graduating from high school, she worked as a veterinarian’s assistant until 1942, when she enlisted in the Army Air Corps. She was stationed at Grenier Field in Manchester through World War II, where she worked as an aircraft mechanic. After the war she was employed by the Jewel Electrical Instrument Co. for 19 years. In 1972 she moved to West Stewartstown and started work as a nurse’s aide at the Coös County Nursing Hospital. She was the widow of Walter Marsh, who died in 1976. There are no calling hours or funeral.
