Stewart, 85, of Freeport, Maine, died on April 8, 2001, in a Freeport health care facility. Born in Concord on January 8, 1916, he was the son of James and Margaret Maud (Buchanan) Stewart. He lived for a time in Concord, and Englewood, Fla. In 1934, he was graduated from Concord High School. During World War II, he served in the Army Air Corps in England as a photographer and laboratory technician. Mr. Stewart worked 30 years for the New England Telephone and Telegraph Company as a lineman and repairman. He served as assistant scoutmaster for Troop 86, Boy Scouts of America in Concord. In addition, he was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and Concord Bowling League. Mr. Stewart was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and the Methodist Menšs Club in Concord. He was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Marjorie A. (Edwards) Stewart, and a son, Richard W. Stewart, who died in infancy in 1952. Family members include a daughter, Mrs. Samuel (Margaret) Neal of Freeport, Maine; a son, Brian H. Stewart of Haverhill, Mass.; two grandchildren and a nephew. There are no calling hours. A memorial service is planned for Wednesday, April 18, at 3 p.m. in Wesley United Methodist Church, Clinton Street, Concord. A graveside service will take place later in the spring in Colebrook. Memorial donations may be made to the Daniel Webster Council, in care of the Herbert P.
