Stambaugh, 53, died on April 15, 2001 at his residence in Errol. Born on March 15, 1948 in Blaine, Penn., he was the son of Book and Dorothy (Flickinger) Stambaugh. He was a 1966 graduate of Perry County High School in Pennsylvania. Soon after graduation he enlisted in the Air Force, where he served for three years. After his discharge Mr. Stambaugh was employed by the Morfield Communications Company in Carlisle, Penn., for several years. He moved to Greenville, Me., in late 1977, and became the owner and manager of the Coffeehouse Restaurant. Additionally he was employed by Fred’s Auto Body and Greenville Steam. Most recently he was employed by Errol Hydro. He liked to ride motorcycles and enjoyed electronics and hunting. Mr. Stambaugh was a member of the United Bikers Association of Maine and the National Rifle Association. The family includes a son, Book F. Stambaugh II of Waterville, Me.; a daughter, Stephanie Powers of Greenville, Me.; two brothers, Book Stambaugh II and David Stambaugh, both of Las Vegas, Nev.; a sister, Melanie Stambaugh, both of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren. There will be no calling hours. A private funeral service will be held in Greenville at a later date.
