Harrigan, Publisher (Apr 11, 2001 -issue) "All the news that fits" FORMATTED: by CParziale, Apr 2001 ***************************************************************************** Richard Dunnells LUNENBURG, Vt. - Richard "Dick" Dunnells Sr., 81, of Lunenburg, died at Weeks Medical Center on Thursday, April 5, 2001, surrounded by his loving family. He was born Oct. 17, 1919, in Rochester, the son of Lewis and the late Agnes Dunnells of Lunenburg. He was a World War II Marine veteran. After the war, he lived in Point Pleasant, N.J., for 22 years before moving to Lunenburg, where he and his wife of 59 years, Doris, have lived for the past 26 years. Richard was predeceased by five brothers: William, Gerald, Calvin, Walter, and Lewis. He is survived by his wife, Doris; a sister, Jo Forest of Lunenburg; a daughter, Bonnie Van Horn of Lunenburg; three sons Bryan Dunnells of Lunenburg, Richard Dunnells Jr. of Brick, N.J., and Mark Dunnells of Middletown, Va.; 11 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Richard was co-owner, with his wife, of the Triple Dee Motel and Camp Ground on Route 2 in Lunenburg. He was a member of the Moose River Lodge 82F and a member of the North Country Iwo Jima Survivors. Richard enjoyed his family and grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He often could be seen giving them and his dog, Yogi, rides on his golf cart around the Triple Dee camp grounds. The family is respecting his living will and had his body donated to the Boston University School of Medicine for medical research and training. An open memorial service was held at Gilman Methodist Church in Gilman, Vt., on Sunday, April 8, at 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made in his memory may be directed to Lancaster Ambulance First Aid Squad and/or Gilman FAST Rescue Squad, or a memorial donation may be made to one’s favorite charity in his name **************************************************************************** * * * * Notice: Printing the files within by non-commercial individuals and libraries is encouraged, as long as all notices and submitter information is included.
