McDonough LANCASTER - Susan A. McDonough, 71, of Williams Street, died on Tuesday afternoon, April 3, 2001, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in White River Junction, Vt. after a long illness. Susan was born in Lancaster on Aug. 22, 1929, the daughter of Bernard and Agnes (Donovan) McDonough. She resided in Lancaster for most of her life and was a graduate of Lancaster Academy. For five years she served as a WAC in the Army. For many years she worked as a waitress, including employment at the Spalding Inn in Whitefield. She also worked winters in Florida. Memberships include the John W. Weeks VFW Post #3041 and Auxiliary, and the American Legion Fredonwarell Post #17, Groveton. Family members include a brother, Bernard McDonough of Fayetteville, N.C.; and two sisters, Mary Brann of Groveton and Bernice Murphy of Watertown, Mass. There are no visiting hours. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made in her memory to the John W. Weeks VFW Post #3041, Main Street, Lancaster, NH 03584.
