"Viv" Lizotte, 82, of Country Village-Genesis Elder Care, formerly of Melcher Court in Groveton, died on Tuesday, April 24, 2001, at Country Village in Lancaster after a lengthy illness. Born July 7, 1918, in Island Pond, Vt., the daughter the Remi J. and Denise (Cloutier) Marquis, she had been a resident of Groveton since 1940. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church and a former member of the Daughters of Isabell. Before retiring she worked as a waitress for local restaurants and as a cashier for the Red & White Market in Groveton. Mrs. Lizotte is survived by one son, Roger B. Lizotte of Berlin; one daughter, Ann V. Pelchat of Groveton; four grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband of 41 years, Benoit R. Lizotte on Feb. 6, 1980; and granddaughter Sharon Poulin in June 1996. At Vivian’s request, her remains were donated to the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical School in Hanover for medical research A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2001 at 11 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Church, with Fr. Daniel Deveau, pastor, officiating. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Main-Armstrong Funeral Home, Groveton. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Viv’s name to the Groveton Ambulance Corps; c/o E.R.
