He was born in Portland, Me., on Oct. 6, 1960, the son of Francis and Muriel (Swift) Payer. He moved to Manchester in 1983. Mr. Payer had been a supervisor for General Cable for the past 10 years and was previously foreman for Northeast Frame Company for eight years. Family members include his wife of 17 years, Anita (Belanger) Payer of Manchester; two daughters, Nina Payer and Allie Payer, both of Manchester; five brothers, Mike Payer, Brian Payer, Bruce Payer, Kendall Payer, all of Portland, Me., and Patrick Payer of Lancaster; six sisters, Diane Jacobs of Westbrook, Me., Debbie Willette of Saco, Katie Audy of Morrisville, Vt., Pam Payer of Northumberland, Paula Howland of North Stratford, and Phyllis Tibbetts of Old Orchard Beach, Me. Calling hours were held on Tuesday at Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium in Manchester. the service was held on Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gary Rolph officiating.
