Included in the USGenWeb Archives with permission. http://seacoastonline.com Grace Reynolds Mother, homemaker Grace Arline Reynolds, 90, formerly of 22 Baker Street, Dover, died Wednesday, April 4, 2001 at Rochester Manor after a period of failing health. Born May 26, 1910 in South Berwick, Maine she was the daughter of George B. and Ella E. (Sullivan) Pierce. She was a mother and homemaker. She is survived by her son, Kenneth A. Reynolds and her daughter, Dorothy May Lavrich; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Memorial services were April 10, at St. John's United Methodist Church with The Reverend Ann Robertson, pastor, officiating. Burial will take place in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, So. Berwick, Maine at a later date. Arrangements were with the Wiggin-Purdy-McCooey-Dion Funeral Home, 655 Central Avenue. Edith T. Doherty Mother of Dover man Edith T. (Tupper) Doherty, 85, of 40 Route 101 West, died Tuesday April 3, 2001 at her residence. She was born in Fort Covington, New York, on July 4, 1915, the daughter of Edward and Genevieve (Jock) Tupper. Mrs. Doherty moved to Malone, New York in her late teens, and married Francis H. Doherty in 1937. She was predeceased by her husband who was killed in action on March 29, 1945, while serving with the 45th Division in Germany during World War II. She moved to Manchester, with her son, in 1951, where she continued her employment with Sears, Roebuck & Co., retiring in 1977. She moved to Bedford in 1991 to reside in Briston Manor West retirement community, where she enjoyed involvement in the activities of the community, and recently moved to Carlyle Place. Besides her husband, Mrs. Doherty was predeceased by her brothers Raymond and James and her sister May. The family includes her son Edward J. Doherty of Dover, two brothers, Howard Tupper of Ramona, California, and Kenneth Tupper of Sun City, Arizona, two sisters, Margaret Strusa of Bedford, New Hampshire, and Elizabeth (Betty) Frazier of Malone, New York; and several generations of nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated April 7th in Saint Elizabeth Seton Church, 190 Meetinghouse Rd., Bedford. Burial was in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Malone, New York. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice, c/o VNA, 1850 Elm Street, Manchester, NH, 03104. Arrangements were with Tasker Funeral Home of Dover. Michael Adams Carpenter, veteran Michael Adams, 73, of 14 Young St., died April 7, 2001 at the Dover Rehabilitation Center after a long illness. Born September 13, 1927 in Madbury, he was the son of Demetrios (James) and Egunea (Spiliotis) Adams. Michael graduated from Dover High School and has been living here most of his life. Michael was a self-employed carpenter, a Veteran of the United States Navy, a member of the Dover Elks Lodge Post #184, American Legion Post #8, and a lifelong member of the Rod and Gun Club of South Berwick, ME. Family members include a daughter, Jean Adams Jones and her husband Henry of Somersworth, one grandson, Michael R. Jones of Rochester, two nieces, Karen Groscruth and her husband Randy of Florida and Donna Crystal of Texas. He was predeceased by a brother Steve Adams and two sisters, Pauline Crystal and Jan Adams. Arrangements were with Tasker Funeral Home, 621 Central Avenue. Graveside services were at the Annunciation Cemetery with Father Dean Panagos officiating.
