Baumgardner of 3 Gerrish Road, Dover, NH did not survive and were born on August 3, 2001 at 11:11 p.m. and August 4, 2001 at 12:33 a.m. at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon. In addition to their parents, survivors are a sister Brittney Nicole and a brother Brett Jacques, paternal grandparents Gregory and Helen Baumbardner of Hibbing, MN and Maternal grandparents Richard L. and Diana Jacques of Dover, paternal great-grandparents: Mr. And Mrs. Samuel T. Black of Rochester, and Mr. James Baumgardner of Hibbing, MN, maternal great-grandmother Dorothy K. Dowe or Ormond Beach, FL, aunt and uncle Jennifer and Seven Auger of Dover and uncles Michael and Gary Baumgardner of Hibbing, MN, cousins Ryan, Andrew, and Hannah Rose Auger of Dover and other great aunts, uncles and cousins and many special friends. Private graveside services at St. Mary New Cemetery, Dover Point Rd., Dover with The Reverend Ann Robertson, pastor of St. John's United Methodist Church, Dover, officiating. Doris Cowperthwaite Nurse Doris Cowperthwaite, 87, of 92 Packers Falls Road, Durham, died Tuesday, August 7, 2001 at Helga's Place after a period of failing health. Born June 14, 1914 in Monticello, Maine she was the daughter of John and Bessie (Nichols) Hogan. She was a resident of Clearwater, FL before moving to Durham six years ago. She graduated from Ricker Classical Institute and Nursing School, Class of 1930. A registered nurse she was employed in the private practice of Dr. Erickson of Raymond, Maine retiring in the 1970s. She found Helga's Place to be very caring home. She enjoyed antiques and flea markets. The widow of Bernard Eugene Cowperthwaite, survivors include a granddaughter, Mrs. Debbie Mason and her husband, David of Union; a grandson, Mark Brown and his wife, Shannon of Wilton, Maine; a brother-in-law, Albro Cowperthwaite and his wife, Marion of Houlton, ME; 8 grandchildren; her friends at Helga's Place; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Joyce Cowperthwaite Brown who died in August, 1990 and also predeceased by a grandson, William Brown, Jr. Graveside services were held in Murch Cemetery, South Casco, Maine. Arrangements were with Purdy Memorial Chapel, Rte 4, 2 Concord Road, Lee, NH. Box 7380, Portland, Maine 04112 or to Seacoast Hospice, 662 Central Avenue, Dover, NH 03820. Mary Carolyn P. Morison CONCORD - Mary Carolyn "Camie" P. Morison, 83, of Concord died Monday at home. A resident of Concord since 1955 she had recently moved to Nottingham to live with her daughter. Well known to Concord audiences, she was a Life Member of the Community Players of Concord and is remembered for such roles as Dodo the Clown in The Clown Who Ran Away, Agnes Gooch in Mame, Ethel in On Golden Pond and Melissa Gardner in Love Letters -- her last performance. She performed in regional theater throughout New Hampshire, received Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress from the NH Community Theater Assoc., and was in the original troupe performing the oral history project Women of Warner under the aegis of the NH Commission on Humanities. She retired from the stage in the mid-90s. Born in Brooklyn, New York, March 30, 1919, she was the daughter of Albert H. and Emma Lou (France) Porter. She was educated at the Berkeley Institute in Brooklyn and St. Mary's Seminary in Maryland. She attended Barnard College in New York and graduated from Lasell Junior College in Newton, MA with a degree in Business Administration. She worked as an executive secretary during World War II. In Concord she worked as an Early Childhood Instructional Aide for 15 years, during which time many little folks thrived under her nurturing, and as a Vocational Education Instructional Aide in the Auto Mechanics shop at Concord High School for one year. She retired in 1990. An active volunteer, she served the Concord Hospital Associates, New Hampshire State Hospital, YMCA and United Way. She served on the boards of the PTA, Old Charitable, League of Women Voters, Concord Music Club, the Cotillion Club and Flower Mission. She also volunteered in the kindergarten at Rumford School. She was a political volunteer in city, state and national campaigns. She was a member of St. Paul's Church for 46 years serving on its Altar Guild, fundraising committees and in the Friendly Kitchen. An avid tennis player and skier, she was very artistic and loved a good party. She is survived by a son, William K. Morison III of Barrington, two daughters, Jane P. Morison of Missoula, Montana and Anne M. Sheehan of Nottingham; a daughter-in-law, Donna F. Morison; a son-in-law, Kevin J. Sheehan; seven grandchildren, Carolyn P. Coe, Elizabeth P. and Kate D. Sheehan, all of Nottingham and Karen N., Anthony D. and Peter M. Morison all of Barrington and Nathan W. Morison of Boca Raton, FL. She leaves behind many very dear friends with whom she shared precious moments. There are no calling hours. A memorial service will be held at St. Paul's Church on Thursday, August 23 at 2 p.m. with The Reverend Robert DeWetter officiating. Burial is at a later date in Chester Cemetery in Kent County, Maryland. Arrangements are with The Bennett Funeral Home in Concord. Gary Allen Hartford Handyman Gary Allen Hartford, 52 of 105 Whitehouse Road in Rochester, died Friday August 3 at Goodall Hospital. He was born on February 22, 1949 the son of Henry and Arlene (Eaton) Hartford. Gary was a self-employed handy man making mechanics one of his favorite hobbies. Survivors include a son Gary JR. of Raymond, two daughters Heather St. Amand and Vivian St. Amand both of Sanford, ME, four brothers, Arnold Hartford of Somersworth, Robert Hartford, Winfield Hartford and Edward Hartford of Rochester, two sisters Myrtle Gaudreault and Sandra Haskins of Dover. He was predeceased by two sisters, Dot Hartford and Arlene Hartford. Funeral arrangements were with Tasker Funeral Home, 621 Central Ave., Dover. Burial is in the family cemetery in Deerfield at the family's convenience. Lee Charles Paige Silver Star vet, social worker Lee Charles Paige, 62, of Clearwater Drive died August 4, 2001 at the Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover. He was born in Richland, LA the son of the late Hayes and Melzie (Hammond) Paige and has lived here since 1997 moving from Massachusetts. Lee was a decorated War Veteran, having served his Country in the Army during the Korean War. Among his medals and citations, Lee received a Purple Heart and a Silver Star (the second highest honor bestowed upon a soldier) He was the first African American to serve in the Nike Air Defense Missile Program. Very proud of his heritage, Lee was half Cherokee Indian. A Licensed Social worker by profession, Lee retired from the County of Los Angeles, CA. While in Los Angeles, he coached the Diocese of Los Angeles, CA. Laurine A. Towler of New York City, Jocelyn E. Towler, Ph.D. of Lomita, CA. Virginia L. Towler of Los Angeles, CA. Dr. Carolyn R. Towler of Rendondo Beach, CA., and Stephanie L. White of Lose Angeles, CA. Also seven grandchildren. Lee's stepson Raymond F. Johnson, III preceeded him in death. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Joseph Church, Central Ave., Dover. Burial will be in new Morning Glory Cemetery, Ruby, LA. Arrangements were with Tasker Funeral home 621 Central Ave., Dover. Contributions in Lee's memory may be made to either the American Heart Association or to the American Diabetes Association.
