Louise Proulx Hester Former resident, widow of chief A. Louise Proulx Hester, 73, of 4 Villanova Lane, Rochester, died Tuesday, November 13, 2001 at the Dover Rehabilitation & Living Center. Born in Dover on May 20, 1928 the daughter of Clifford N. Smith and Martha (Eschman) Smith Richey, she was formerly a longtime resident of Dover and had lived in Rochester for the last six years. Prior to her retirement she was a longtime employee of Eastern Air Devices of Dover. She was the widow of retired Dover Police Captain Paul Proulx who died in 1981. She is survived by her husband George J. Hester, Jr., of Rochester; a daughter Linda Proulx Seaward and her husband Daniel O. Seaward, Jr. of Kittery Point, ME; two grandchildren Daniel O. Seaward, III and Johnna Seaward; six step-grandchildren; 14 step-great-grandchildren; a brother Robert C. Smith and his wife Mary Ann of Dover; and two nieces, Mrs. Patrick (Betsy) Magee of Richmond, VA and Catherine Smith of Somersworth. Funeral services were Thursday, November 15, at the Tasker Funeral Home with The Reverend Fritz Cerullo, OSA, pastor of St. Mary’s Church officiating. Burial followed at Pine Hill Cemetery. William Truman Keck Engineer William Truman “Bill” Keck, 55, of Boyds Corner, South Berwick, ME died Friday, November 9, 2001 of a heart attack at his home. He was born November 2, 1946 in Kittery, ME the son of Truman and Josephine (Zoffolli) Keck. He had lived in South Berwick for 11 years after moving from Nottingham. Bill was an engineer-supervisor at Davidson Automotive in Farmington, and had worked there for more than 30 years. Members of his family include his mother, Josephine Keck of Nottingham; his wife, Robyn A. (Butler) Keck of South Berwick, ME; two daughters, Stephanie Keck of Nottingham and Patricia Keck of Portsmouth; two step-daughters, Toni Burns of South Berwick, ME and Tamber Burns of Kennebunk, ME; a sister and her husband, Sue and John Vincinguerra of Portsmouth; his grandchildren Truman, River and Zoe; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Bill’s father, Truman Keck, died in 1999. Services were Wednesday, November 14 at the McIntire-McCooey Funeral Home in South Berwick, ME. Paterson Member AARP, Senior Center Alice M. (Dennis) Paterson, 91, formerly of Hanson Street, died Saturday, November 17, 2001 at the Riverside Rest Home. Born in Dover on May 4, 1910 she was the daughter of James F. and Mary (McCuiggin) Dennis and had resided here all of her lifetime. Prior to her retirement, she was a 25-year employee of the Clarostat Manufacturing Co. Alice was a communicant of St. Joseph Church and a member of the church’s Altar & Rosary Society. She was a member of the Dover Area Senior Center and the AARP. She is survived by a nephew Raymond Dennis of Dover, and close friends including Doria Burns and Ed and Helen Poulin of Dover. Her husband Robert A. Paterson who died in 1979 and her sister Dorothy A. Dennis who died in 1996 predeceased her. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday, November 20, at St. Joseph Church. Burial followed in St. Mary New Cemetery. Karter, 94, of 910 Tri-City Road, Somersworth, died Tuesday, November 13, 2001 at the Dover Rehabilitation and Living Center. She was born August 12, 1907 in Boston, MA, the daughter of Edward S. and Lucy M. (Monahan) Fisher and resided in Boston and New York for many years prior to moving to this area 38 years ago. While in Boston, she was a member of the Retired Teacher’s Association and while in Somersworth she was a member of the Strafford County Retired Teacher’s Association. She was a communicant of Holy Trinity Church. Members of the family include her husband of 57 years, John A. Karter of Somersworth; two nephews, David E. Fisher of No. Abington, MA and Robert E. McGrath of Walpole, MA; one niece, Jayne E. Shanning of Westwood, MA; and many grand nephews and nieces. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Thursday, November 15 at Holy Trinity Church in Somersworth, with The Reverend Steve Kucharski, pastor. Burial followed in the V.A.
