Permission received to include in the USGenWeb Archives. Mary C. Ammells NEWTON -- Mary C. (King) Ammells, 85, of 14A Packer Meadows, died Saturday, Jan. 6, 2001, in Exeter Hospital. She was born April 28, 1915, in Haverhill, Mass., the daughter of the late William and Della (Jellison) King. Mrs. Ammells was an embosser for Goralmick & Swartz for most of her life. She is survived by two granddaughters, Maureen Blake of Haverhill and Anne Haley of Sneads Ferry, N.C.; one grandson, Paul L. Kneeland of Mountain Top, Pa.; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Elwood King and Lionel King, both of Haverhill; five sisters, Loretta Merrick and Margaret Chapinski, both of Haverhill, Anna Eaton of North Hampton, Arlene Warren of Acton, Maine, and Joanne Valley of Haverhill; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her only son, Baron L. Kneeland, who died Thanksgiving Day in 1999. Private spring graveside services will be held in Maplewood North Parish Cemetery, Haverhill. Hodgdon ROWLEY, Mass. -- Russell A. Hodgdon, 61, of 134 Hillside St., died Sunday, Jan. 7, 2001, in Anna Jaques Hospital, Newburyport, Mass. He was born May 11, 1939, in Melrose, Mass., the son of the late Albert A. and Ida (Lane) Hodgdon. He was a 1957 graduate of Malden High School and attended Mass Radio and Electronic Institute, Northeastern University and Wentworth Institute. Mr. Hodgdon retired from Dynamac Research Corp., No. Andover, Mass., in 1997. He had previously worked at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology as a technician on the Apollo program and at Charles Stark Draper Labs in Cambridge where he worked on the design system for the Trident Missile. He was a constable and a former shellfish constable in Rowley; a member of the Rowley Planning Board; a member of the Massachusetts Constable Association; the Charles C. Dame Lodge AF&AM of Georgetown; and a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason. He enjoyed bowling and fixing cars. He is survived by his wife, Joyce E. (Douglass) Hodgdon; two daughters and their husbands, Deborah and Edgar Bolton of Newton and Kimberly and Thomas Zuk of Barnstead; two grandchildren, Benjamin Bolton and Cynthia Zuk; a brother-in-law, Howard Topping of Malden; and one niece and nephew. He was predeceased by one sister, Carolyn Topping. Funeral services were held Wednesday in the Frank S. Roberts and Son Funeral Home, Rowley. Burial was in Main Street Cemetery, Rowley. Memorial donations may be made to the Rowley Fire or Police Departments. Norman R. Rollins EPPING --Norman R. Rollins, 69, of Pleasant Street, died Saturday, Jan. 6, 2001, in Exeter Hospital. He was born June 27, 1931, in Epping, the son of the late Clifton A. and Addie Belle (Remillard) Rollins and resided in Epping and Raymond. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Mr. Rollins retired from Newbury Trucking in 1993 after 10 years of service. After his retirement he was a security guard for Errco until his death. He was a member of the Maple Wheadon Post No. 4479 Veterans of Foreign Wars in Raymond and the Richard A. Mitchell Post No. 51 American Legion of Epping. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Annette R. (Bernier) Rollins of Epping; two sons, Norman L. Rollins of Tamassee, S.C., and Ricky R. Rollins of Epping; two daughters, LuAnn C. Boyanowski and Sheila D. Ebitson, both of Raymond; and six grandchildren. Graveside services were held Wednesday in New Pine Grove Cemetery, Raymond, with the Rev. Ronald Corriveau officiating. Ramona Stevens RAYMOND -- Ramona Stevens, 79, of 4 Francesca Drive, died Thursday, Jan. 4, 2001, in Elliot Hospital, Manchester. She was born June 16, 1921, in Epping, the daughter of the late Wallace and Myrtle (True) Illsley and had resided in Raymond since 1956. Mrs. Stevens taught school in Fremont, Brentwood and Deerfield retiring from the George B. White School in Deerfield after 32 years of teaching. She was president of the Raymond Historical Society; a member of the Maple Wheadon Post 4479 Ladies Auxiliary; and a founding member of the Raymond Boosters Club. She was active in town politics and was former chairman of the Raymond School Board. She was an avid golfer. The widow of Paul Stevens, who died in 1990, she is survived by one daughter and her husband, Linda and Fred Richard of Raymond; three grandchildren,Aangela Richard, Fred Richard Jr. and Peter Richard; two great-granddaughters, BEcky Stilkey and Nicole Richard; one sister-in-law, Eunice Illsley of Epping; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sons, Perry Stevens and Peter Stevens. Funeral services were held Tuesday in the Brewitt Funeral Home, Raymond, with the Rev. J. Chandler Newton officiating. Burial was in New Pine Grove Cemetery, Raymond. Memorial donations may be made to the Raymond Historical Society, Depot St., Raymond, NH 03077.
