Permission received to include in the USGenWeb Archives. Harlan E. Carter Sr. NORTH HAMPTON -- Harlan E. Carter Sr., 74, of Atlantic Avenue, died Tuesday, May 29, 2001, in Exeter Hospital. He was born July 7, 1926, in North Hampton, the son of the late Harry E. and Lavinia (Marston) Carter. He was educated in North Hampton Elementary School and was a 1944 graduate of Hampton Academy. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II serving from 1944 until 1946. Mr. Carter was a mason and worked in the trade for 38 years before his eyesight became a problem. He was a volunteer firefighter for the North Hampton Fire Department, a former member of the Budget Committee and volunteered on many projects. He was a 50 year member of Star in the East Lodge No. 59, St. Alban Chapter No. 15, R.A.M., Olivet Council R.S.M. all of Exeter; a member of the Dewitt Clinton Commandry of Portsmouth; the Bektash Temple Shrine, Concord; the American Legion Post No. 7 of Rochester; and a former member of Abenaqui Country Club, Rye. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, canoeing and chopping wood to heat his home. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Shirley A. (Brown) Carter; five children, P. Terry Carter of Newton, Sonja Hartl of San Francisco, Harlan E. Carter Jr. of San Mateo, Calif., Beverly Ann Teichs of Millington, Tenn., and Sherrie Lyn Thayer of Bakersfield, VT.; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Mabel C. Ashford of North Hampton; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one son, Robert H. Carter, who died in 1959. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home,-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. Private burial will be in Center Cemetery, North Hampton. Richard F. Frost FREMONT -- Richard Ferguson Frost, 83, of Tavern Road, died Tuesday, May 29, 2001, in Meredith after a lengthy illness. He was born Sept. 16, 1917, in Nashua, the son of the late Harold A. and Florence Mae (Ferguson) Frost, and had resided in Merrimack before moving to Fremont 20 years ago to reside with his daughter. He was a graduate of Hollis High School and attended Wentworth Institute, Boston. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. Mr. Frost was employed by New England Telephone for 45 years retiring in 1981 as a supervisor in the plant department. Following his retirement he was employed at the Radio Grove Hardware Store in Raymond and was a volunteer at Exeter Hospital. He attended the First Congregational Church of Kingston. He and his late wife enjoyed traveling in their trailer and they made many cross country trips. The widower of Ethel (Ricko) Frost, who died in 1991, he is survived by one daughter and her husband, Carol and Tony Cromwell of Monument, Colo.; six grandsons; and two brothers, William P. Frost of Nashua and Donald B. Frost of Gilford. He was predeceased by one daughter, Jacqueline Bernier, who died in 1999. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the First Congregational Church, Kingston. An hour of visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the hour of the service. Burial will follow in East Cemetery, Hollis. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Fremont Public Library, Fremont, NH 03044. Arrangements are by the Brewitt Funeral Service, Exeter. Sean C. O'Neill SHREVEPORT, La. -- Sean Christopher O'Neill, 35, formerly of Sandown, died Monday, May 21, 2001. He was a graduate of Timberlane Regional High School, Plaistow. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving as a sergeant and also served with the Army Reserves retiring in 2000. Mr. O'Neill worked for Federal Express in Shreveport and previously in Boston. He is survived by his wife, Lora (Sims) O'Neill of Shreveport; two daughters, Christian and Elana O'Neill of Shreveport; his parents, Robert B. and Cindy O'Neill of New Tazewell, Tenn.; and Mary Ellen (O'Neill) and Wayne Klimauskas of Effingham; one brother, Scott V. O'Neill of Manchester; his grandparents, George and Vera (O'Neill) Pitts of Sandown; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services were held Tuesday in the Peabody Funeral Home, Sandown. Burial was in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Millis, Mass.
