"Buddy" Castle Sr., 80, of North River Road, Epping, died Thursday, June 21, 2001, after a lengthy illness. He was the son of the late Edward and Irene (Freeman) Castle and was a veteran of World War II. Mr. Castle was a letter carrier with the Exeter Post Office for several years. He had previously worked for Alrose Shoe Co., served on the Epping Police Department and with the State Civil Defense Agency. He was a past commander of the American Legion Post No. 108 in Chester; a member of the American Legion Post No. 51 in Epping and of the 40/8. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Arletha (Lee) Castle of Epping; two sons and their wives, Harry Jr. and Diedra Castle of Newton and David and Kathy Castle of Epping; one daughter and her husband, Linda and Rick Forsythe of Barrington; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Edward Castle of Exeter; one sister, Dorothy Giroux of Sanford, Maine; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one brother, Richard Castle; and one sister, Betty Braley. Calling hours will be held Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Brewitt Funeral Home, Pleasant Street, Epping. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Prospect Cemetery, Epping. Joseph S. Sobel SEABROOK -- Joseph S. Sobel, 60, of Seabrook and Deland, Fla., died Tuesday, June 12, 2001, in Deland. He was born Jan. 18, 1941, in Lawrence, Mass., the son of Stella (Stefanowich) Sobel of Deland, and the late Joseph E. Sobel. He was raised in Methuen, Mass., and had resided in North Andover, Mass., from 1965 until 1990, when he moved to Seabrook. He was a 1959 graduate of Tenney High School and was a U.S. Air Force veteran. Mr. Sobel was a wholesale florist in Methuen. He is survived by his former wife, Jennifer "Janie" Sobel of Seabrook; one son, Master Sgt. John Sobel, USAF, Okinawa, Japan; five daughters, Jane McGrady of Falmouth, Maine, Jennifer Eacho of Kingston, Kristina Sobel of Maynard, Mass., Valerie Smith of Columbia, S.C., and Jeannette Sobel of Seabrook; nine grandchildren; and one brother, Edward Sobel of Grand Junction, Colo. Arrangements were by the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, Hampton. Francis P. Silva RAYMOND -- Francis "Frank" P. Silva, 56, of Maple Lane, died Thursday, June 14, 2001, in Exeter Hospital after a sudden illness. He was born June 23, 1944, in Woburn, Mass., the son of Lorraine (Boutwell) Silva of Londonderry and the late Albert J. Silva. He resided in Stoneham, Mass., and in Raymond for 45 years. He attended Stoneham High School. Mr. Silva was a repairman with the Stanley-Bostitch Co. in Woburn, Mass., for 29 years. He later worked part time for New Hampshire Tool Outlet in Salem. He was a member of the Raymond Historical Society. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 26 years, Vicki (Sullos) Silva of Raymond; one daughter, Tonya Silva of Raymond; one son, Albert J. Silva of Raymond; two sisters, Judith A. Muise of Raymond and Amber D. McMahon of Londonderry; several nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins. Funeral services were held Monday in the Brewitt Funeral Home, Raymond, with the Rev. Wayne VanGundy officiating. Burial was in Prospect Cemetery, Epping. Memorial donations may be made to the family in their time of need. Marie R. McIsaac RAYMOND -- Marie R. McIsaac, 74, of 44 Route 27, died Thursday, June 14, 2001, at her home after a period of failing health. She was born June 10, 1927, in Winthrop, Mass. She resided in Rockland, Mass., for 20 years and then in Baldwinsville, N.Y., for 20 years before moving to Raymond three years ago. She was a graduate of Winthrop High School. Mrs. McIsaac was a communicant of St. Joseph Church, Epping, and a former member of St. Augustine Church in Baldwinsville. She enjoyed working at the polls during the voting season. The widow of Joseph McIsaac, who died in 1992, she is survived by one daughter, Mary Moore of Raymond; one son, Joseph McIsaac of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; one granddaughter; two brothers, Lawrence Frederick of Revere, Mass., and Herbert Frederick of Hillsboro; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Route 27, Epping. Burial will follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery, Raymond. Arrangements are by the Brewitt Funeral Home, Raymond.
