Permission received to include in the USGenWeb Archives. Richard C. Belmer EPPING -- Richard Clayton Belmer, 67, died Saturday, July 28, 2001, in Exeter Hospital. He was born April 18, 1934, in Plaistow, the son of the late Frank and June (Davis) Belmer. He resided in Maine, Haverhill, Mass., and Salem before moving to Epping where he has lived for 13 years. He was educated in Maine schools. Mr. Belmer was a contractor in the southern New Hampshire area for 40 years. He enjoyed fishing, baseball, football and horseshoes and was the Massachusetts State Horseshoe champion for three consecutive years. He was an avid karaoke singer with a large following of fans. He is survived by three sons, Richard C. Belmer Jr. of Atkinson, Frederick A. Belmer and his wife Sheila of Haverhill and Jeffrey S. Belmer of Haverhill; two daughters, Candice L. Belmer of Bradford, Mass., and Faith A. Belmer of Plaistow; his longtime companion, Marilyn Sherman; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Porter Belmer of Waterboro, Maine, and Bruce Belmer of Hampton; three sisters, Jackie LeMay of Sanford, Maine, Carol of Minnesota and Amber of Haverhill; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one brother, Stanley Belmer; and the mother of his children, Gloria (Littlefield) Belmer. Funeral services were held Tuesday in the Paul C. Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, Haverhill. Memorial donations may be made to the family in their time of need to Frederick A. Belmer, 105 Bellevue St., Haverhill, MA 01832. Robert A. LaBelle SANDOWN -- Robert A. LaBelle, 51, of 13 Hawkwood Road, died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2001, in New England Medical Center, Boston. He was born in Haverhill, Mass., and had resided in Sandown since 1987. He was a 1966 graduate of the former Haverhill Trade School. Mr. LaBelle was an electronic technician at Raytheon Co. in Andover, Mass for 29 years. He was a member of the I.B.E.W. and was a former pack leader for Cub Scout Pack 278 of Sandown and was a coach and assistant manager of the Haverhill Little League for several years. He is survived by two sons, Robert J. LaBelle of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Keith A. LaBelle of Sandown; one daughter, Karyn A. LaBelle of Auburn; three grandchildren; two brothers, Richard A. LaBelle of Groveland, Mass., and Roland A. LaBelle of Atkinson; one sister, Sandra Ostberg of Williamsburg, Va.; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins. Calling hours will be held Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Route 121A, Plaistow. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Center Cemetery, Sandown. Joshua N. Purington RAYMOND -- Joshua N. Purington, 22, of Brown Road, died Sunday, July 29, 2001, from injuries sustained in a dirt bike accident in Fremont. He was born Dec. 4, 1978, in Exeter and was raised in Raymond. He attended Raymond High School. Mr. Purington was employed by Severino Construction in Candia. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, dirt biking and playing basketball. He is survived by his wife of two years, Nicole (Fowler) Purington of Raymond; one daughter, Destiny Purington of Raymond; his parents, Walter D. and Lindall (Purington) Welch of Raymond; his grandparents, Dorothy Philbrick of Raymond, Weymouth and Rose Purington of Epping and Russell and Martha Welch of Raymond; his great-grandmother, Delia Pelletier of Newmarket; two brothers, Brian Purington of Raymond and Walter Welch Jr. of Lee; five sisters, Melissa Welch of Northwood, Cazzandra Welch of Epping, and Isabelle Welch, Aleighsh Welch and Crystal Welch, all of Raymond; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services were held Wednesday in the Brewitt Funeral Home, Raymond. Memorial donations may be made to the Joshua N. Sweet, 83, of Main Street, died Tuesday, July 31, 2001, at his home after a period of failing health. He was born Feb. 4, 1918, in Swanton, Vt., the son of the late Earl H. and Ethel (Barker) Sweet., and had resided in Danville for more than 60 years. He was a graduate of Swanton High School and Essex Agricultural College, Randolph, Vt. Mr. Sweet retired from AT&T in North Andover, Mass., in 1983. He was active in Danville serving as a former member of the planning and zoning boards and as president of the Parent-Teachers Association. The widower of Hazel (Day) Sweet, who died in 1996, he is survived by two daughters, Sheila Hicks of Amesbury, Mass., and Mary Ouellette of Plaistow; one son, Earl D. Sweet of Danville; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three brothers, Arland Sweet of Jeffersonville, Vt., Ray Sweet of Cambridge, Vt., and Guy Sweet of Enosburg, Vt.; two sisters, Arlie Williamson of Jeffersonville and Shirley Mason of Hyde Park, Vt.; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in Danville Baptist Church with the Rev. James Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Center Cemetery, Danville.
