Anagnos, 32, died July 31, 2001, in Lowell General Hospital after being hit by an automobile in Lowell. He was born March 2, 1969, in Boston, the son of Andrew Anagnos of Jamaica Plain, Mass., and Irene Hatgis of Lynn, Mass. He was a 1987 graduate of Lynn English High School and attended Maine Central Prep. School. He received his bachelor of arts degree in criminal justice from the University of Lowell. At the time of his death he was a police officer with the Salem Police Department. He had previously served with the Fremont, Epping and Seabrook police departments. He was a communicant of Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church, Lowell. He was a member of the N.H. Police Association and the Salem Police Relief Association. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Amy L. (Skryness) Anagnos; his stepfather, Arthur Hatgis of Lynn; one sister, Valerie L'Heureux of Salem, Mass.; his godparents, Ann and George Vergakis of Rhode Island; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Janice Skryness of Dracut, Mass.; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services were held Monday in Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church, Lowell. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury, Mass. Arrangements were by the Dolan Funeral Home, Chelmsford, Mass. James H. Bean Sr. MALDEN, Mass. -- James H. Bean Sr., 69, died July 28, 2001, at his home. He was born March 15, 1932, in Bowling Green, Ky., the son of Mack and Lucille (Pickett) Bean, and had resided in Malden for 10 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War serving on the USS Baltimore. Mr. Bean was a technician for Verizon for 42 years. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He is survived by one daughter and her husband, Kathryn and Ronald A. Ahlquist of Plaistow; three sons, James H. Bean Jr. of Boston, Dennis R. Bean of Franklin and Joseph W. Bean of Iowa; and four grandchildren. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, 279 Main St., Malden. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Bourne, Mass. Elizabeth Hahn EXETER -- Elizabeth (Scheffel) Hahn, 91, formerly of 2 Stephenson Way, Groveland, Mass., died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2001, at Exeter Healthcare. She was born in Langenberg, Germany, coming to this country as a child and settled in Lawrence, Mass. She was a graduate of Lawrence High School. Mrs. Hahn was employed by Ayer Mills, Lawrence, Western Electric Co. of No. Andover, Mass., and Raytheon Co. of Andover, Mass. She was an avid bowler and was a member of several leagues and enjoyed traveling. The widow of Otto Hahn, who died in 1994, she is survived by one daughter-in-law, Mary L. Hahn of Plaistow; one granddaughter, Carlene Sarty of Plaistow; one great-grandson; and one sister, Hertha McCarthy of Seabrook. She was predeceased by one son, Robert O. Hahn, who died in 2000. Funeral services were held Monday in Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, Plaistow. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen, Mass. (Collins) Hawkes, formerly of North Danville Road, died Monday, Aug. 6, 2001, in Exeter Hospital after a brief illness. She was born June 13, 1929, in West Epping, the daughter of the late Oral and Daisy (Jasper) Collins, and was a lifelong resident of Kingston recently moving to Sanbornville. She was a 1947 graduate of Sanborn Seminary, Kingston, where she was the captain of the field hockey and basketball teams, and played with the softball team. Mrs. Hawkes worked at Karelis Wood Heel in Lynn, Mass., for many years. She enjoyed camping and fishing. The widow of Ralph K. Hawkes, her husband of 48 years who died in 1999, she is survived by two sons, Frank Hawkes of Sanbornville, with whom she made her home, and Bruce Hawkes of Summerville, S.C.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Edna West of Kingston; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Oral Collins and Charles Collins. Graveside services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in Pine Grove Cemetery, Kingston, with the Rev. Wendall Irvine officiating. Arrangements are by the Brewitt Funeral Home, Exeter. Michael S. Lightizer NEWTON -- Michael S. Lightizer, 13, of 7 Pond St., died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2001, a his home. He was born in Methuen, Mass., the son of William E. and Kelly (White) Lightizer, and was a lifelong resident of Newton. Michael attended Sanborn Memorial School and would have been in the eighth grade at Sanborn Regional Middle School where he was a member of the track team. He was a member of The First Christian Church of Newton. He was an avid hunter and was a junior member of the Country Pond Fish and Game Club and its archery league where his team placed first in competition this past season and he was named most improved shooter. In addition to his parents, he is survived by twin sisters, Amy C. Lightizer and Elizabeth A. Lightizer of Newton; one brother, William R. Lightizer of Newton; his paternal grandparents, Robert and Joan (Eckhart) Lightizer of Newton; his maternal grandparents, Ray and Barbara (White) Preston of Holly, Mich.; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services were held Monday in the First Christian Church of Newton. Burial was in Highland Cemetery, Newton. Memorial donations may be made to the Michael S.
