Permission received to include in the USGenWeb Archives. Joan M. Anthony STRATHAM -- Joan M. "Joanne" (Bone) Anthony, 65, died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2001, in Exeter Hospital. She was born in Lawrence, Mass., and was raised in Windham. She was a graduate of the former Woodbury High School, Salem. Mrs. Anthony had been a teacher's aid in the Windham school system and was a librarian's assistant at Nesmith Library, Windham. She attended New Hope Methodist Church, Methuen, Mass. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed her family. She is survived by her husband, Paul E. Anthony of Stratham; two sons, Paul J. Anthony of Derry and Bruce S. Anthony and his wife Judy of Windham; one daughter and her husband, Elizabeth J. and Stephen Clark of Danville; four grandchildren; three brothers, John Bone of Boston, Norman Bone of Port Charlotte, Fla., and Richard Bone of Sarasota, Fla; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Tuesday in New Hope Methodist Church, Methuen. Memorial donations may be made to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 Saint Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905. Arrangements were by the Charles F. Dewhirst Funeral Home, Methuen. Charles A. Demos FREMONT -- Charles A. Demos, 70, of North Road, died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2001, in Exeter Hospital after a brief illness. He was born Sept. 22, 1931, in Somerville, Mass., the son of the late Anastos Demos and Helen Pappas. He was raised by Mary Bogris and had resided in Fremont since 1971. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Mr. Demos was the former owner and operator of Prospect Buffet of Cambridge, Mass. for more than 20 years. He was a longtime member of the American Legion Post in Epping. He is survived by his wife, Peg Demos of Fremont; three sons, Ernest Demos of Hooksett, William Cadiero of Brentwood and Eddie Demos of Fremont; five daughters, Pamela Demos of Lynn, Mass., Annette Magnusson of Kingston, Kimberly Rowley of Louisiana, Julie Fahey of Dover and Stephanie Demos of Fremont; nine grandchildren; three brothers, James Demos of Wilmington, Mass., Nicolas Demos of Greece and Christopher Demos of Marlboro, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. in the Brewitt Funeral Home, 8 Pleasant St., Epping. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Kingston. Memorial donations may be made to the Beverly School for the Deaf, Echo Ave., Beverly, MA 01915. Nettie M. Farr DEERFIELD -- Nettie M. Farr, 85, of Raymond Road, died Monday, Oct. 15, 2001, at St. Teresa's Manor, Manchester, following a brief illness. She was born Dec. 21, 1915, in Deerfield the daughter of the late Lester E. and Bessie M. (Palmer) Maynard and was a lifelong resident of Deerfield. She attended Deerfield Elementary School, Raymond High School and the University of New Hampshire. Mrs. Farr was a former home economics teacher at Woodsville High School, was a field representative for the N.H. Retail Grocers Association for 12 years, a sales representative for Avon for many years and sold Rawley Products with her late husband. She also worked at Martins House of Cloth in Manchester for several years. She was very active with the Deerfield Fair for most of her life serving on the board of directors, as the superintendent of household goods and the superintendent of school work. She was one of the founders of the Deerfield Historical Society and served as its first president; she was co-chairman of the Deerfield Town Hall Restoration Committee and a ballot clerk for the town for more than 50 years. She was a member of the Deerfield Grange; the Rebekahs and the Deerfield Fireman's Auxiliary. The widow of Robert S. Farr, her husband of 52 years who died in 1993, she is survived by four daughters and two sons-in-law, Carol W. Tucker of Lebanon, Nancy J. Steinmeier of Woodlands, Tex., Lydia R. and Charles Peak of New Boston and Gail W. and Mark Stelmacher of Des Moines, Iowa; one son and his wife, Maynard S. and Barbara Farr of Monroe; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Brewitt Funeral Home, On the Common, Raymond, with the Rev. Woody Woodland officiating. Burial will be in the Ladd/Lang Cemetery, Deerfield.
