Baker, 75, formerly of Toppan Lane, died Friday, Nov. 16 at the Rockingham County Nursing Home, Brentwood, after a period of failing health. He was born May 30, 1926 in Stoneham, Mass., the son of the late Carl and Ethel (Lovering) Baker Sr. He had resided in Fremont for 8 years and in Kingston for more than 20. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in central Europe for two years. Mr. Baker was a truck mechanic for H.P. Hood Co. in Charlestown, Mass. for 28 years. He was a 50-year member of the Liberty Masonic Lodge of Beverly, Mass. The widower of Rita (Lemay) Baker, who died in 1995, he is survived by one daughter, Helen Watkins of Stratham; one son, Robert Baker of Kingston; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one niece and nephew. He was predeceased by one son, Kenneth Baker Jr., who died in 1960. Funeral services were held Monday in the Brewitt Funeral Home in Exeter, with the Rev. Daniel Weaver officiating. Nyberg NEWTON -- Barbara E. Nyberg, 77, of Heath Street, died on Tuesday, Nov. 20 in Exeter Hospital. She was born Oct. 20, 1924 in Haverhill, Mass., the daughter of the late William E. and Hazel (Kelly) Burdett, and had resided in Newton for 54 years. Mrs. Nyberg was employed by Allen Shoe Co. in Haverhill, retiring several years ago. She was a former Miss Haverhill. The widow of John L. Nyberg, who died in June, she is survived by one daughter, Donna Kitson of Fremont; two sons, Maynard "Rusty" Nyberg of Newberry, Fla. and Kenneth Nyberg of Moultonborough; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lillian McGauley of Groveland, Mass. and Elaine Charron of Haverhill; one brother, Edward Burdett of Haverhill; and several nieces, nephews and one cousin. She was predeceased by one sister, Cynthia Marshall, who died in March. There are no services scheduled. Memorial donations may be made to the N.H. SPCA, P.O. Box 196, Stratham, NH 03885-0196. Arrangements are by the Brewitt Funeral Home, Exeter. Mary Jane Pouliot HAVERHILL, Mass. -- Mary Jane (Hession) Pouliot, 71, died on Monday, Nov. 19, at her home after a lengthy illness. She was born on June 19, 1930 in Boston, the daughter of the late John A. and Anne (Loring) Hession. She was a 1944 graduate of Amesbury (Mass.) High School. Mrs. Pouliot was a telephone operator at Lawrence (Mass.) General Hospital, retiring in June after 25 years of service. She had previously worked as an operator for New England Telephone Co. in Amesbury. She was an active member of St. Joseph Church of Amesbury, and had served as president of their Women's Club for several years. The widow of Donat Pouliot, she is survived by one son and his wife, Charles J. and Teri Pouliot of Hampstead; one daughter, Donna Mercer of Hampton Falls; four grandchildren; and several nieces and cousins. There are no calling hours. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Church on School Street in Amesbury. Private interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Amesbury.
