(DeShon) Chamberlain, 77, of 32 Hunt Road, died Monday, Dec. 24, 2001, in Exeter Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was born April 7, 1924, in Orrs Island, Maine, the daughter of Maxwell and Iola (Linscott) DeShon. She came to New Hampshire 50 years ago and had resided in Kingston for 30 years. She was a graduate of Yarmouth (Maine) High School. Mrs. Chamberlain was a member of the Newton Junction Baptist Church and a former Sunday school superintendent at Main Street Baptist Church, Newton, for many years. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Alfred R. Chamberlain Sr. of Kingston; one son, Alfred R. "Pete" Chamberlain Jr. of Temecula, Calif.; one daughter, Margaret Cramer of Blythe, Calif.; four grandchildren; one sister, Marie Hall of Gardner, Maine; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one grandson, Scott Chamberlain, who died in 1978. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. in Newton Junction Baptist Church with the Rev. James Melencoff officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, East Kingston. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Newton Junction Baptist Church, Main and Whittier Streets, Newton Junction, NH 03859. Arrangements are by the Brewitt Funeral Home, Exeter. Kenneth G. Crowell KINGSTON -- Kenneth G. Crowell, 51, of New Boston Road, died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2001, in Exeter Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born Nov. 16, 1950, in Lynn, Mass., the son of the late George and Pauline (Mistkowski) Crowell. He was raised in Sandown and had resided in Hampstead before moving to Kingston 18 years ago. He attended Sanborn High School and Timberlane High School. Mr. Crowell was an auto mechanic for several local shops and was the road agent in Plaistow for 15 years. He was an auxiliary member of the Kingston Veterans Club and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife of nine years, Angie Crowell of Kingston; two daughters, Chelsea Ann Crowell and Kyleigh Faye Crowell, both of Kingston; one brother, Stanley Crowell of Waltham, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one brother, George Crowell Jr. Graveside services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in Greenwood Cemetery, Kingston. Flowers are acceptable. Arrangements are by the Brewitt Funeral Home, Exeter. Claire L. Florence PLAISTOW -- Claire L. (Moran) Florence, 69, of 83 Main St., died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2001, at her home. She was born in Somerville, Mass., was raised in Wilmington, Mass., and had been a resident of Plaistow for 16 years. She was a graduate of Wilmington High School and graduated from the operating room technician program at Northeast Regional Technical High School in 1971. Mrs. Florence was an operating room technician at Choate Memorial Hospital, Woburn, Mass., for 10 years. She was later a secretary at Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge, Mass. She was a member of Holy Angels Parish. She is survived by one son, Robert W. Florence of Rockwood, Maine; one daughter and her husband, Ruthann "Randi" and Robert Connolly of Plaistow; three grandchildren; one great-grandson; three sisters, Rita A. Cullinane of Plaistow, Lois A. Mullin of Lehigh Acres, Fla., and Margaret E. Coakley of Ft. Myers, Fla.; one brother, Charles L. Moran of Plaistow; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. in Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Route 121A, Plaistow. Friends may call on Friday from 8:30 a.m. until the hour of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Plaistow Cemetery. Alice L. Philbrick FREMONT -- Alice L. Philbrick, 75, died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2001, in Concord Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was born Sept. 13, 1926, and was a longtime resident of Fremont. Mrs. Philbrick loved animals and enjoyed knitting. The widow of the former Fremont Fire Department Chief, Clarence Philbrick, she is survived by her caretakers for the last eight years, Susan and Ralph Bourdeaux of Loudon. Graveside services were held Wednesday in Village Cemetery, Fremont, with the Rev. John Barner officiating. Arrangements were by the Brewitt Funeral Home, Raymond.
