Crawford Jr. RAYMOND -- Richard C. "Zeke" Crawford Jr., 60, of Lane Road, died Friday, Jan. 18, 2002, in Exeter Hospital after a brief illness. He was born May 17, 1941, in East Derry, the son of Ida M. (Smart) Weiss of Derry and the late Richard C. Crawford. He resided in Raymond for the past several years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. Mr. Crawford was a self-employed carpenter. He was a life member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Derry; a lifetime gold member of the National Rifle Association; and was a supporter of the Raymond Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed gardening, hunting and drag racing at New England Dragway in Epping. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 40 years, Marguerite (Piper) Crawford of Raymond; two daughters and their husbands, Virginia and Michael Rioux of Chester and Kim and Joseph Crawford-Lister of Raymond; one son and his wife, Richard and Mary Crawford of Derry; five grandchildren; his stepfather, Charles Weiss of Derry; three brothers, Ronald Crawford, Robert Crawford and William Crawford, all of Derry; and many nieces and nephews. Spring graveside services will be held in Forrest Hills Cemetery, East Derry. Memorial donations may be made to the Raymond Volunteer Fire Department, Scribner Road, Raymond, NH 03077. Arrangements are by the Brewitt Funeral Home, Raymond. Joan L. Daubenspeck HOMOSASSA, Fla. -- Joan L. Daubenspeck, 72, of Sugarmill Woods, died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2002, at her home. She was born Aug. 28, 1929, in Methuen, Mass., the daughter of William and Adelaide (Lever) Townsend. She resided in Kingston before moving to Homosassa 11 years ago. Mrs. Daubenspeck was a legal secretary. She was a member of the Women of Sugarmill Woods; the Ladies Golf Association of Sugarmill Woods; the Southern Woods Golf Club; and the Exeter Country Club. She is survived by her husband, Roy Daubenspeck of Homosassa; one sister, Susan Bergeron of Salem; and two nieces and nephews. Howland EXETER -- Miriam Sinclaire Howland, 91, of 17 Hampton Road, Langdon Place, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2002, after a brief illness. She had resided in Norwood, Mass., Riverside, R.I., Dennis, Mass., and Peterborough. She was a graduate of Norwood High School and attended Johnson & Wales Business School. Mrs. Howland was manager of the main office of Peoples Bank and Trust Co., Providence, R.I. She was a member of Dennis Union Church where she served as treasurer and deaconess for many years. She was a volunteer at Exeter Hospital; a member of St. Andrew's Scottish Society of N.H.; the Exeter Garden Club; the Village Garden Club of Dennis; the Highland Light Scottish Society of Cape Cod; the Chatham Community Chorus; the Peterborough Historical Society; the Woman's Club of Peterborough; the Monadnock Chorus; and the Peterborough Garden Club. She traveled extensively and enjoyed oil painting and needlepoint. She was the widow of Herbert V. Howland, who died in 1982. Mrs. Howland is survived by two sons, John S. Howland of Danville and Robert V. Howland of North East, Md.; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert W. Sinclaire of Walpole, Mass.; and many nieces and nephews. Jeanette Plouffe BOKEELIA, Fla. -- Jeanette (Rock) Plouffe, 90, a former resident of North Danville Road, Kingston, died Friday, Jan. 11, 2002, in Florida after a brief illness. She was born March 20, 1911, in Haverhill, Mass., the daughter of Edward and Corrine (Marsolais) Champagne. She had resided in Exeter. Mrs. Plouffe was a postal worker for the Kingston Post Office for more than 21 years. She was a former communicant of St. Michael Church, Exeter. She was the widow of Arthur Plouffe, a longtime Exeter selectman who died in 1993, and was also predeceased by her first husband, Elmer Rock, who died in 1980. Mrs. Plouffe is survived by one brother, Clifford Champagne of Manchester; one sister, Dolores Brusso of Santa Anna, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Bokeelia on Monday. Spring burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Kingston. Local arrangements are by the Brewitt Funeral Home, Exeter.
