Agnew PLAISTOW -- Harry G. Agnew, 78, formerly of Farrington Avenue, died Monday, Jan. 28, 2002, at the Portland Care and Rehabilitation Center, Portland, Conn. He was born in Haverhill, Mass. He had resided in Plaistow for 33 years. He attended St. James Grammar School and was a graduate of Haverhill High School. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II serving as a torpedoman's mate and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. Mr. Agnew was a member of the Haverhill Fire Department and served from 1946 until he was injured in the Washington Street Diner fire in 1954. Following his retirement from the department in 1955 he was associated with the former Keezer Manufacturing Co. of Plaistow and Agnew Maintenance Co. of Haverhill. He was a longtime member of St. John the Baptist Parish of Haverhill; the Lorraine Post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of Haverhill; and the Hannah Duston Chapter of the Disabled American Veterans, serving as the adjutant. He was active in Plaistow political circles and was a member of the Democratic Committee. The widower of Virginia M. (Gianfriddo) Agnew, he is survived by one son and his wife, Thomas H. and Karen Agnew of Haverhill; one daughter and her husband, Patricia and Howard Bush of East Hampton, Conn.; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, James Agnew of Haverhill; two sisters, Jesse Wilson and Eleanor Lowe, both of Haverhill; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one grandchild, Thomas H. Agnew Jr. Calling hours will be held Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow. Funeral services with fire department honors will be held Tuesday at 9 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church, Lincoln Ave., Haverhill. Fraser, 62, of Timothy Street, died Monday, Jan. 28, 2002, at his home. He was born June 20, 1939, in South Boston, the son of James and Margaret (Rouse) Fraser. He had resided in Sandown for many years and in Danville for seven years. Mr. Fraser was a truck driver. He enjoyed camping, outdoor activities and spending time with his family. He is survived by four sons, James Fraser Jr. of Ferndale, Md., Wayne Fraser of Tulsa, Okla., Michael Fraser of Raymond and James McCusker of Plaistow; three daughters, Barbara Fraser of Melrose, Mass., Colleen Tupper of Candia and Jennifer McCusker of Danville; 13 grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Fraser of Sandown and John Fraser of California; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Joan (Follansbee) Fraser, who died in 1978, and his second wife, Joan (MacPherson) Fraser, who died in 2000. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Route 27, Epping. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Epping. Arrangements are by the Brewitt Funeral Home, Raymond. Robert Gallant RAYMOND -- Robert "Cy" Gallant, 70, of Cammett Drive, died Monday, Jan. 28, 2002, in Exeter Hospital. He was born May 10, 1931, in Stratford Hollow, the son of Francis (Christy) Moore of Brimfield, Mass., and the late Gerald L. Gallant. He had resided in Raymond for 10 years, coming from Epsom. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. Mr. Gallant was a bulldozer operator for 38 years and a member of Local Union No. 98. He enjoyed reading, gardening and spending time with his family. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Vivian (Tebbetts) Gallant of Raymond; two daughters and their husbands, Randi and Wayne Hastings of Loudon, and Renee and Bruce Martinson of Pembroke; one step-daughter and her husband, Coni and Daniel Marcoux of Strafford; two step-sons, Michael Corson of Northwood and Robert Corson of Sandston, Va.; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Tom Gallant of Pensacola, Fla.; one sister, Geraldine McVetty of Maidstone, Vt.; and several nieces and nephews. Dorothy Hurd RAYMOND -- Dorothy Cole Hurd, 77, formerly of Lane Road and Prescott Road, died Monday, Jan. 28, 2002, after a brief illness. She was born Aug. 6, 1924, in Deerfield, the daughter of the late Frank and Lalia (Thorn) Cole. She was a lifelong resident of Raymond, educated in Raymond schools. Mrs. Hurd was the assistant librarian at the Dudley-Tucker Library in Raymond and had been employed by National Shoe in Raymond and at other area shoe shops. She is survived by two daughters, Lalia Johnson Senecal of Allenstown and Linda Cowger of Deerfield; one son, Steven Hurd of Deerfield; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lionel Cole of Candia and John Cole of Deerfield; two sisters, Arlene Wilcox and Ethel Wovkanech, both of Rochester; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one son, Palmer T. Hurd Jr.; and one brother, Frank Cole. Friends may call on Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the Brewitt Funeral Home, On the Common, Raymond. McIntosh, 84, of Prescott Road, died Monday, Jan. 28, 2002, at his home after a sudden illness. He was born March 5, 1917, in Pittsfield, the son of the late Howard W. and Edith P. (Sargent) McIntosh. Mr. McIntosh was the widower of Helen L. (Davis) McIntosh, his wife of 44 years. He is survived by one son, Albert McIntosh of Raymond; two grandsons; one great-granddaughter; one sister, Phyllis Yeaton of Barnstead; his companion of 16 years, Marjorie Parker of Raymond; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Thursday in the Brewitt Funeral Home, Raymond, with the Rev. Bossi officiating. Spring burial will be in Cold Spring Cemetery, Rochester. Novell, 68, died Jan. 6, 2002, at his home after a brief illness. He was born July 5, 1933, in Exeter. He retired to Arizona in 1993. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Mr. Novell was employed by Exeter Hospital for 30 years, retiring in 1993 as the store room manager. He was a member of New Hope Fellowship Church, Sun City West. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing bocce. He is survived by his wife, Audrey L. Novell; two sons, Herbert G. Novell of East Kingston and Eric L. Novell of Livermore, Calif.; two daughters, Sheri Kaminski of Danville and Sally A. Novell of Durham; seven grandchildren; one brother, George H. Novell of Epping; two sisters, Kathleen Dennis of Revere, Mass., and Lillian Colson of Newton; and several nieces and nephews. Orfield, 82, of Harriman Road, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2002, at his home. He was born March 1, 1919, in Raymond, the son of the late Karl and Lillian (Guinea) Orfield and was a lifelong resident of Raymond. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving in the invasion of Normandy. Mr. Orfield was a lineman for Public Service Company of New Hampshire 35 years and was the Raymond tax collector for many years. He was a member of the Tucker Masonic Lodge in Raymond and was formerly a volunteer fireman in Raymond. He was an avid golfer. The widower of Pauline (Pellerine) Orfield, his wife of 49 years who died in 1995, he is survived by two daughters, Amoret Whalen of Raymond and Nadene Arnault of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; four grandchildren; two sisters, Lillian Mafera of Manchester and Jeannette Cote of Epping; and several nieces and nephews. (Snow) Pepper, 43, of 26 Scribner Road, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2002, in Elliott Hospital, Manchester, after a lengthy battle with an aggressive brain tumor. She was born March 28, 1958, in Dedham, Mass., the daughter of Frank "Bub" and Eleanor (Tomilson) Snow and had resided in Raymond for 14 years. Mrs. Pepper was an assistant manager of the Raymond Shop 'n Save deli and seafood department where she had worked since it first opened. She was honored as the Associate of the Month in November 2000. She was the assistant coach of the Pee-Wee Division Girls' State Champions of the Nor-Rock Viking Cheerleading program and was an active supporter of the Raymond Youth Soccer programs. Mrs. Pepper contributed to many of the fund-raising efforts for the community including the Raymond Fire and Police departments. She excelled in sports and was an avid water skier and enjoyed spending summers at Great East Lake in East Wakefield. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband of 17 years, Robert W. Pepper of Raymond; one son, Warren F. Pepper of Raymond; one daughter, Brittany E. Pepper of Raymond; one sister, Elaine McCarthy of Taunton, Mass.; three brothers, Larry Snow of Mashpie, Mass., Frank Snow of Amherst and Kenny Snow of Bedford; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Monday in St. Joseph Church, Epping. Burial was in Pine Grove Cemetery, Raymond. Arrangements were by the Brewitt Funeral Home, Raymond. Graceann Repczynski FREMONT -- Graceann (Lepore) Repczynski, 65, died Monday, Jan. 22, 2002, at her home after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was born Feb. 29, 1935, in Worcester, Mass., the daughter of the late Thomas J. and Grace E. (Harrison) Lepore. She resided in Plaistow for many years before moving to Fremont. She was educated in Newton, Mass., schools and was a 1954 graduate of Newton High School. Mrs. Repczynski served as a Plaistow Police Officer. She was the founder of The Acting Company, a Haverhill, Mass., theater organization with many shows held in the Haverhill City Hall Auditorium. She also produced the melodrama featured during Plaistow's Old Home Day for more than 15 years. She was involved with dinner theater productions in greater Haverhill serving as a producer and costumer. She was a member of Holy Angels Parish, Plaistow. She is survived by her husband, Thomas J. Repczynski of Fremont; three daughters and their husbands, Diana and Michael Reardon of Lakeland, Fla., Cheryl and John Wheeler of Lawrence, Mass., and Laura and David Bilodeau of Epping; three sons and their wives, Thomas E. and Patricia M. Vlack of Plaistow, James E. and Anne Vlack of Haverhill and Robert A. and Angie Vlack of Kingston; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Jane Barclay of Vernon, British Columbia. Scott HAMPSTEAD -- Bradwell Davidson Scott, 52, died Friday, Jan. 25, 2002, at his home. He was born Sept. 12, 1949, in Culver City, Calif., the son of the late Clifford N. and Florence (Scott) Luebsen. He moved to the East Coast in 1979 and to Hampstead in 1984. He received a bachelor of fine arts degree in creative writing from the California Institute of the Arts, Valencia, Calif., and earned his master of arts degree in theology from the Pacific School of Religion, a member of the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, Calif. He did graduate work toward a doctorate in theology at the GTU. Mr. Scott was an educational consultant/writer for several nonprofit organizations and was a member of the Graduate Theological Union and the National Writers Union. He was a practicing poet, author of a volume of verse, "And Awe Itself Evokes the Needed Rain," (1998), as well as a study for the Rural Challenge Program, titled "Standing Up for Community and School," 1999. He was listed in Marquis' Who's Who in American Education from 1996-1998. He is survived by his wife, Darian (Garritson) Scott of Hampstead; two sons, Nathan H. Scott and Jamieson F. Scott, both of Hampstead, two brothers, William Scott of Fresno, Calif., and Stanley Scott of Presque Isle, Maine; one sister, Marilynne Mason of Denver, Colo., and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
