Banester KINGSTON -- Marie J. (Keating) Banester, 86, of 30 Pillsbury Pasture Road, died February 28, 2002, at Harborside Healthcare, Amesbury, Mass. She was born in Cambridge, Mass., and had resided in Reading, Mass. for many years. She was educated in Cambridge schools. Mrs. Banester was employed in the accounting department at H.P. Hood & Sons, Inc., and at Glendale Dairy. She attended St. Agnes Church. The widow of Frank G. Banester, who died in 1982, she is survived by one niece, Janet Cawthron of Kingston, with whom she made her home. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Tuesday in St. Agnes Church, Reading. Burial was in Forest Glen Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were by the Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, Plaistow. Frances Bauernfeind HAVERHILL, Mass. -- Frances (Deutsch) Bauernfeind, 87, of 1 Water St., died Saturday, March 9, 2002, at Kenoza Manor. She was born in Sleepy Eye, Minn., and attended local schools. She later attended beautician school. Mrs. Bauernfeind was primarily a housewife but taught hair dressing in California and practiced in Minnesota. She was an avid square dancer and at the age of 72 she and her late husband broke the world's seniors' record for the most consecutive nights dancing. She enjoyed traveling, wildlife and the outdoors. The widow of Leon Bauernfeind, she is survived by three sons and their wives, David and Ann Bauernfeind of London, England, Carl and Chris Bauernfeind of Catalina, Ariz., and Neil and Harlyn Bauernfeind of North Branch, Minn.; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Louise and Dick Aune of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, Marie Bauernfeind of Santa Ana, Calif., and Ruth and Robert Paul of Plaistow; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Private graveside services will be held in Florida. Arrangements are by the Brookside Chapel and Funeral Home, Plaistow. Crider, 45, of Huckleberry Road, died Saturday, March 9, 2002, at her home after a lengthy illness. She was born Jan. 15, 1957, in Alexandria, Va., the daughter of Barbara (Button) Everhard of Pelham and the late Fredrick Everhard. She was raised in Pelham and had resided in Raymond for 9 years. She was a 1975 graduate of Pelham High School. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 20 years, William Crider of Raymond; one son, Christopher Crider of Raymond; two daughters, Kimberly Crider and Caitlyn Crider, both of Raymond; five sisters, Anita Kydd of Pelham, Marcia Gardner of Nashua, Linda Schier of Goffstown, Sandra Coutu of Salem and Julie Murphy of Lowell, Mass.; one brother, Fredrick Everhard of Hazelhurst, Wis.; one brother-in-law, David Vaught of Pelham; and several nieces and nephews. Larkin Jr. RAYMOND -- Thomas J. Larkin Jr., 84, of Long Hill Road, died Friday, March 8, 2002, in Wentworth-Douglass Hospital, Dover, after a brief illness. He was born Feb. 12, 1918, in South Barre, Mass., the son of the late Thomas J. and Florence (Barnett) Larkin, moving to Lawrence, Mass., in 1923. He was a 1935 graduate of Lawrence High School. Mr. Larkin retired from Watts Regulator in North Andover, Mass., in 1996, when he was 80 years old, after 15 years of service. He had previously been the cook at Royal Feast Potato Chip Co. in Methuen, Mass., for 42 years and had worked at the wood mill in Lawrence for five years. He was a former member of the Red Men Association. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Louise M. (Bergeron) Larkin of Raymond; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Tammy A. and Maurice R. Dussault of Raymond, Patricia Fitzmaurice of Methuen and Maurine and Arthur Rocha of Pelham; one stepdaughter, Janelle L. Dallaire of Salem; two stepsons, Philip P. Desroches and his wife Nancy of Sandown and Alfred E. Desroches of Londonderry; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; eight step grandchildren; and 11 step great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by one daughter, Frances Foley. Funeral services were held Monday in the Brewitt Funeral Home, Raymond, with the Rev. Michael Chouinard officiating. "Laddie" McDonald, 41, of Cilley Road, died Sunday, March 10, 2002, in Elliot Hospital, Manchester, from injuries suffered in a work-related accident. He was born Dec. 26, 1960, in Manchester, the son of Robert J. McDonald of Maine and Amanda (Purington) Robertson of Raymond, and had resided in Raymond and Deerfield. He was educated in Raymond schools and was a U.S. Navy veteran. Mr. McDonald had worked a LaPier Builders in Auburn for a year and half and was previously employed by Imes Broadcasting Co., Columbus, Ohio, where he was a broadcast engineer at WMUR for six years. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting. In addition to his parents, he is survived by one son, James McDonald of Deerfield; his stepfather, Lawrence Robertson of Raymond; his maternal grandparents, Leonard "Bud" and Pearl Purington of Deerfield; two brothers, Walter "Dan" McDonald of Goffstown and Bobby McDonald of Haverhill, Mass.; five sisters, Nadine McDonald of Alexandria, Jennifer Stringer of Loudon, Amadee Cottrell of New Hampshire, Pamela Vieger of Lynn, Mass., and Mariah McDonald of Beverly, Mass.; one aunt and uncle; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by one brother, William Godbout. Funeral services were held Thursday in Raymond Methodist Church with Pastor Kwan Lee officiating. Burial was in Old Center Cemetery, Deerfield. Potvin PLAISTOW -- Dr. Bernard S. Potvin of 13 Stonebridge Drive died Tuesday, March 12, 2002, in Exeter Hospital, following a lengthy illness. He was born in Ste. Ours, P.Q., Canada and had resided in Amesbury, Mass., and in Plaistow since 1989. He was a graduate of Ste. Hyacinthe College and the University of Montreal. He graduated from the New England College of Optometry in 1947. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and became a naturalized U.S. citizen. Dr. Potvin opened his practice in Haverhill in 1947 and expanded his practice to Amesbury and then to Groveland, Mass., retiring in 1988 when his daughter continued the practice in Groveland. He was a member of Holy Angels Parish, Plaistow; the Carl Davis Post of the American Legion, Plaistow; Hannah Dustin Post No. 20 of the Disabled American Veterans; the Franco American War Veterans, where he had served as post historian; the American Optometric Association; the Massachusetts Society of Optometrists; L'Union St. Jean Baptiste d'Amerique; L'Institut Francais; and a 50 year member of United Commercial Travelers of America. He was a former member and president of the St. Vincent de Paul Society of Amesbury; the Elks Club of Haverhill; and the Richelieu Club of Lawrence. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jeannette B. (Poulin) Potvin; two daughters and their husbands, Jeannette and Roger Lambert of Atkinson and Laura A. Potvin and Richard Bibaud of Newton; three sons, Marc B. Potvin of Manchester, Paul R. Potvin and his wife Connie of Hampden, Maine, and Carl W. Potvin of Rochester; seven grandchildren; one brother, Philippe Potvin of Ste. Hyacinthe; one sister, Cecile Dube of Worcester, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday at 9 a.m. in Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, followed at 10 a.m. by a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Angels Church, Plaistow. "Mimi" Worthen, 69, of Ledgehill Road, died Monday, March 11, 2002, in Lawrence General Hospital, Lawrence, Mass. She was born July 24, 1932, in Quincy, Mass., the daughter of Bessie W. (Bishop) Holmquist of Center Tuftonboro and the late Harold Holmquist. She was a longtime resident of Hampstead and had resided in Center Tuftonboro for five years. She was a 1950 graduate of Hampstead High School. Mrs. Worthen owned and operated Muzzy Tavern Antiques in Hampstead and was the secretary for the Tuftonboro Free Library. She was a member of the Hampstead PTA; a charter member of the Hampstead Historical Society; and a member of Hampstead Congregational Church. The widow of Maurice G. Worthen Sr., who died in 1984, she is survived by three sons, Maurice G. Worthen Jr., Bruce H. Worthen and Jon A. Worthen, all of Hampstead; six grandchildren; one great-grandson; two sisters, Betty Ann Buttrick of Center Tuftonboro and Wilma Amliw of Salem; and several nieces and nephews. There are no calling hours. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in Hampstead Congregational Church, Main Street, Hampstead. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Hampstead.
