Borden NEWTON -- Stanley B. Borden, 83, died Tuesday, June 11, 2002, at The Oxford in Haverhill, Mass. He was born Aug. 29, 1918, in Boston, the son of the late Ernest and Matilda (Burton) Borden and had resided in Newton since 1955. He was educated in Boston schools and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving with the medical corps attaining the rank of staff sergeant. Mr. Borden was a dental technician for more than 63 years retiring from the former Needham Dental Lab, Needham, Mass., in 1999. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Virginia (Brown) Borden; one son and his wife, Peter S. and Donna E. Borden of Newton; two grandchildren; three foster children, Joseph Ready of Brentwood, Beverly Draughn of Portsmouth and Thomas Borden of Eliot, Maine; several foster grandchildren; and one nephew. He was predeceased by one sister, Ethel Coggshall. Memorial services will be held Saturday, June 22, at 2 p.m. at the family home, 29 Bear Hill Road, Newton. Barbara S. Keefe RAYMOND -- Barbara S. Keefe, 78, of Swain Lane, died Saturday, June 8, 2002, in Exeter Hospital. She was born Jan. 1, 1924, in Haverhill, Mass., the daughter of the late Kenneth and Mabel (Crosby) Swain. She was a longtime resident of Raymond and had resided in Swampscott, Marblehead and Salem, Mass., wintering in the Scottish Highland in Leesburg, Fla. She was very active in sports in her younger years and had been a member of the Flufferettes, a woman's softball team in Lynn, Mass. Mrs. Keefe was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a member of Raymond Congregational Church; the Daughters of the American Revolution; and co-founder and charter member of the Onway Lake Association in Raymond. She enjoyed outdoor activities, gardening and camping. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Francis D. Keefe of Raymond; three sons, F. Daniel Keefe of Winthrop, Mass., Timothy C. Keefe of Plymouth and Jonathan Keefe of Manchester By the Sea, Mass.; one daughter, Susan M. Keefe of Newark, Vt.; five grandchildren; one brother, Richard Swain of Wilbraham, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews. Robinson RAYMOND -- Stephen Edward Robinson, 50, of Highview Circle, died Wednesday, June 12, 2002, at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack after a period of failing health. He was born Nov. 3, 1951, in Patterson, N.J., the son of Ralph and Jane (Van Stratton) Robinson of Reading, Mass. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during the Vietnam War. Mr. Robinson was a machinist at Frontier Machine Shop, Amesbury, Mass., for 2 1/2 years and had previously worked at MKS Instruments in Lawrence, Mass., for 10 years. In addition to his parents he is survived by his wife of 20 years, Maureen Robinson of Raymond; one son, Nathan Robinson of Raymond; one daughter, Samantha Robinson of Raymond; five brothers, Ralph Robinson of North Reading, Mass., James Robinson of Oceanside, Calif.; Michael Robinson of Attleboro, Mass., Matthew Robinson of Tacoma, Wash., and Paul V. Robinson of Reading; four sisters, Margaret Rasik of Cocoa Beach., Fla., Nancy Holden of Crystal River, Fla., Joan Munroe of Lowell, Mass., and Suzanne Foster of Sandown; and 18 nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Brewitt Funeral Home, On the Common, Raymond.
