Lyle Green DELAND, Fla. -- Lyle (Britton) Green, 71, died Tuesday, June 29, 2002, in London, England, where she was on holiday with her daughter, Deborah A. Sargent. She was born May 22, 1931, in Bradford, Mass., the daughter of Curtis H. and Arlene (Stubbs) Britton. She had resided in Plaistow all her married life, moving to DeLand in 1983. While living in Haverhill she was a life member of the Women's City Club; past worthy matron of Fidelity Chapter No. 90, Order of the Eastern Star; past worthy High Priestess of White Shrine of Jerusalem; a member of Grace United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the choir and many church organizations. She was a member of several hereditary societies; past regent of the Brigadier General James Brickett Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution. In Florida she was past president of the Daytona Beach Colony of Mayflower Descendants; and state deputy governor of the Florida Mayflower Society. She was a life member of the National Society of Magna Carta Dames and the Friends of the Society of St. Georges and Descendants of the Knights of the Garter, Windsor Castle, England, where she was the guest in 1966 and 1997. Mrs. Green had great pride in her New England heritage. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, George Green; three daughters and their husbands, Deborah and Richard Sargent of Exeter, Jean A. and Rodney Henderson of Houlton, Maine, and Melanie G. and Andrew Ward of Danville; several grandchildren and step grandchildren; one aunt, Marjorie Stubbs Heaney of Florida; one sister, Jean Scribner of Jacksonville, Fla.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main St., Haverhill. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until the hour of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Grace United Methodist Church, Current Expense Fund, 471 Main St., Haverhill, MA 01830 or to the Arts Director, Chelsea & Westminster Hospital, 369 Fulham Road, London, SW10 9NH. Lawrence S. Maye RAYMOND -- Lawrence S. Maye, 89, of Agent Road, died Saturday, June 29, 2002, at a Manchester nursing home after a period of failing health. He was born Jan. 5, 1913, in Port Henry, N.Y., the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Brooks) Maye. He was raised in Woonsocket, R.I., and had resided in Brockton, Mass., for 47 years and in Raymond for the past two years. Mr. Maye worked in the maintenance department of the Brockton Hospital for 40 years. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and sports. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Leona (Theroux) Maye; one daughter and her husband, Isabelle and George Miglorino of Raymond; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the Brewitt Funeral Home, Raymond. Burial was in New Pine Grove Cemetery, Raymond.
