Buckley RAYMOND -- Gerald T. Buckley, 87, died Monday, Nov. 18, 2002. He was born March 2, 1915, in Ocseola Mills, Pa., and was raised in New York City. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving with the 77th Infantry Division in the Pacific. Mr. Buckley served with the Army again after World War II and was stationed in Austria and Germany during the Cold War Years and later worked on the NIKE Missile System in Maryland and New Mexico. The widower of Marian (Bernet) Buckley, he is survived by two sons, Gregory Buckley of Kingston and Gerald Buckley Jr. of Houston, Tex.; and six grandchildren. He was predeceased by one daughter, Barbara Baca. A private Memorial Mass will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be Nov. 29 at 2 p.m. in Indian Town Gap Veterans Cemetery in Pennsylvania. Currier EPPING -- Nellie Louise Currier, 88, of Mill Pond Road, died Saturday, Nov. 16, 2002, at the Colonial Poplin Nursing Home, Fremont, after a period of failing health. She was born July 29, 1914, in Deerfield, the daughter of the late George and Jennie (Eaton) Denyou, and had lived most of her life in Epping. Mrs. Currier was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking. The widow of William Currier, who died in 1983, she is survived by three daughters, Collis (this is correct) Elliott of Maine, Judy Mandigo of Raymond and Jean Parsley of Epping; two sons, James Currier of Deerfield and William Currier of West Ossipee; 18 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Virginia Collins of Epping and Corliss Robinson of Raymond; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one daughter, Nancy Quintell. Funeral services were held Monday in the Brewitt Funeral Home, Epping, with the Rev. Wayne VanGundy officiating. Burial was in Pine Grove Cemetery, Raymond. Phyllis I. Hartford RAYMOND -- Phyllis Irene Hartford, 69, died Sunday, Nov. 17, 2002, in Exeter Hospital. She was born June 8, 1933, in Raymond, the daughter of Edward and Florence (Young) Wallace and was a lifelong resident of Raymond. Mrs. Hartford was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society and was involved in community affairs in Raymond. She enjoyed crafts and shopping. The widow of John Hartford, who died in 1990, she is survived by one son, Ricky J. Hartford of Manchester; three daughters, Darlene Smart of Epping, Marianne Welch of Hampton Beach and Wanda Marcotte of Epping; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Fred Wallace of Fremont, Roland Wallace of Raymond and Francis Wallace of Florida; one sister, Evelyn Wright of Raymond; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. There are no calling hours. After cremation, graveside services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the New Pine Grove Cemetery, Raymond. Magnuson ATKINSON -- Carl R. Magnuson, 81, died Monday, Nov. 18, 2002, at his home following a lengthy illness. He was born Aug. 13, 1921, in Lynn, Mass., the son of the late Gustave and Jennie (Kristenson) Magnuson. He resided in Melrose, Mass., for 18 years before moving to Atkinson in 1983. He was at 1939 graduate of Lynn English High School. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II serving as a member of the 4th Marine Division and was involved in the battles of Iwo Jima, Saipan, Tinian and Roi-Namur. He was the recipient of the Purple Heart and the Presidential Citation for heroic conduct. Mr. Magnuson began his career in 1947 at the Boston Insurance Exchange Building as an independent insurance adjuster. He was named vice-president of the Boston office of Toplis and Harding, Inc., in 1963, retiring in 1982. He was a member of the N.H. Chapter of the 4th Marine Division Association. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Joan L. (Casey) Magnuson; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Janice M. and Michael S. Smith of Derry, Susan L. Magnuson of Kingston, Mass., and Nancy D. and Samuel Davis of Merrimac, Mass.; six grandchildren; one niece and one nephew. He was predeceased by one sister, Esther D. Chisholm. Funeral services will be held Friday at 9 a.m. in the Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, Route 121A, Plaistow, followed by a Liturgy of the Word at 10 a.m. in Holy Angels Church, Plaistow. Military burial will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in the State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen.
