MADELINE BOUDLE Madeline M. Boudle, 87, of Lancaster, died on Monday, August 25, 2003 at Weeks Medical Center in Lancaster. Mrs. Boudle was born in Groveton on June 4, 1916, and was raised there. She was schooled in Revere, Mass., and lived the majority of her lifetime in Lancaster. A homemaker all her life, Madeline raised ten children. She was very involved and devoted to her church, the Lancaster Assembly of God. She also enjoyed sewing and needlework. Her husband, Howard I. Boudle, predeceased her in 1988. Family members include seven sons, Irving H. Boudle of Stark, Robert E. Boudle of South Windsor, Conn., Ernest C. Boudle of Plattsburg, N.Y., Rodney L. Boudle of Jefferson, Alfred J. Boudle of Twin Mountain, Errol Boudle and Aubrey J. Boudle of Stratford; three daughters, Linda R. Way of Concord, Vt., Laura L. McKensie of Stratford and Lorraine Virge of Twin Moun-tain; 38 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Joan Greenwood, of Water-bury, Conn. Visiting hours were held on Wednesday afternoon, August 27 at the Bailey Funeral Home in Lancaster. A funeral service was held on Thursday morning, August 28 at the Lancaster Assembly of God Church. The Rev. James Mich-ael, pastor, officiated. Burial followed at Center Cemetery in Stratford. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MATTHEW FONTAINE Matthew L. Fontaine, 19, of Beecher Falls, died on Wednes-day, August 27, 2003 as the result of a swimming accident in Royalton, Vt. He was born on August 12, 1984 in Newport, the son of Stephen and Patsy (Blanchard) Fontaine. Matt attended school in Canaan and was a 2002 graduate of Canaan Memorial High School. At the time of his death he was a student at Vermont Technical College in Randolph, where he majored in computer science. Matt was very active while in high school, where he was a member of the Jazz Band and Chorus, and played the guitar. He was a member of the Upward Bound program, and an honor student who freely gave of his time to assist students enrolled in the special education program. He had worked summers as a valet at the Balsams Grand Resort Hotel in Dixville Notch. Last year Matt attended Champlain College in Burlington, transferring to Vermont Technical College this fall. Matt was a member of the National Honor Society. He enjoyed reading, drawing and working with computers. He is survived by his parents, Stephen and Patsy Fontaine, of Beecher Falls; a brother, Stephen J. Fontaine, who is a student at the University of Vermont in Burlington; his paternal grandparents, Law-rence and Gertrude Fontaine of Derby; and his maternal grandparents, Beverly Blanchard of Beecher Falls and Bill Blanchard of Stratford. There are no calling hours. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 4 at the Assembly of God Church in Columbia, with the Rev. Gary Clark officiating. Interment will be in the Canaan Village Cemetery. Donations in memory of Matthew Lawrence Fontaine may be sent to Canaan Memorial High School, Canaan, VT 05903. Newman Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- GARY GASCHNIG Gary Joseph Gaschnig, 48, of Concord, died on August 16, 2003 as a result of an ATV accident. He was born on October 15, 1954 in Darby, Pa., the son of Gustave Richard Gaschnig and Elizabeth "Betty" (Stez) Gaschnig. After graduating from Algo-nquin Regional High School in 1972, he attended Northeastern University. He made his career in the transportation industry and worked at Overnite Transportation Co., Eastern Connection and most recently ABC Moving & Storage, an Allied Van Lines Company. He was a member of the N.H. Snowmobile Association, Nature Conservancy, Smithsonian Institution and clerk of the 1820 House in Concord. Mr. Gaschnig was an avid outdoorsman, a skilled nature photographer and writer and was working on a book titled Autumn on Moose Ridge: Songs & Rhythms of the Season. Family members include his father and stepmother, Gustave and Carol Gaschnig, of Northborough, Mass.; a sister, Mary Ann Gaschnig, of Concord; a brother, Richard E. Gaschnig, of Stratford; many aunts, uncles, cousins, stepsiblings, nieces and nephews. Services were held on Friday, August 22 at St. John the Evangelist Church in Concord. Memorial donations may be made to the Society for the Protection of N.H. Forests, 54 Portsmouth St., Concord, NH 03301. Waters Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
