JANET BRESETTE Janet Rose Bresette 39, of Stratford, died on Tuesday, December 9, 2003 at Weeks Medical Center in Lancaster, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on September 19, 1964 in Stewartstown, the daughter of Marven and Anna (Caron) Ferren. Mrs. Bresette attended school in Stratford, and was a 1983 graduate of Stratford High School. She was married to Lenwood Bresette on June 8, 1985. Mrs. Bresette worked for several employers over the years, including PAK 2000 in Lancaster, Clarkeies Market in Colebrook, Weeks Memorial Hospital in Lancaster, and was last employed as a housekeeper at Roger's Camp Ground in Lancaster. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Lancaster and served as a Head Start volunteer in Groveton. Mrs. Bresette enjoyed fishing, hunting and singing karaoke. Mrs. Bresette is survived by her husband, Lenwood Bresette of Stratford; her mother, Anna Gaudette of Groveton; a son, Kevin Bresette, and two daughters, Samantha Bresette and Leesa Bresette, all of Stratford; two brothers, Mont Washburn of Colebrook and Jimmy Hurley of Stratford; six sisters, Germaine Chapman of Stratford, Doris Fregeau of Groveton, Brenda Ferren of Bloomfield, Angela Belanger of Stratford, Dottie Champagne of Bethlehem and Nicole Gaudette of Stratford; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her father, Marven Ferren, in 1968, and by a daughter, Heidi Bresette, in 1993. Calling hours were held on Saturday afternoon, December 13 at the Newman Funeral Home in Colebrook, with funeral services immediately following at the funeral home. Burial will be in the spring at the Colebrook Village Cemetery. Cote-Hathaway, 89, of Manchester, died on December 12, 2003 at IHS Hackett Hill Nursing Home. Born on July 5, 1914 in Lowell, Mass., she was the daughter of Leo O. Cote and Diana (Bourassa) Cote. She lived in Manchester all her life. She was educated in the Manchester school system. Mrs. Hathaway had worked as a housekeeper for 15 years at St. Francis of Assisiıs Rectory on Goffs Falls Road before retiring. She worked at Salvage Shoe in Manchester and Klev-Bros. in Derry as a fancy stitcher. She and her husband owned and operated Dee's Variety Store on Brown Avenue in the 1940s, and Mrs. Hathaway was a Brownie troop leader for more than 20 years. She was an avid bingo player, a parishioner and member of the Ladies Guild and founder of the 300 Club at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Litchfield. Her husband of 50 years, Thomas W. Hathaway, died in January, 1983. The family includes a daughter, Mrs. Charles (Rhea C. Denton) Street of Brooksville, Fla.; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandsons; her brothers and sisters, Theresa Mahan of La Mirada, Calif., Louise Kos of Manchester, Paul L. Cote of Coeur DıAlene, Idaho, Armand Cote of Newmarket, George Cote of Manchester, Lillian Boisvert of Columbia, Richard Cote of Allenstown and Eugene Cote of Manchester; and many cousins, nephews and nieces. Calling hours were held on Monday at the McHugh Funeral Home in Manchester. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Tuesday morning in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Litchfield. Burial will be at a later date in the family lot in St. Augustin Cemetery, Manchester. (Gray) LaBar, 88, of Stewartstown, died on Monday, December 15, 2003 at the Coös County Nursing Hospital. Mrs. LaBar was born on June 13, 1915 in Columbia, the daughter of the late Bernie and Leona (Pinckney) Gray. She was a hairdresser for a short period of time before she was married to George I. LaBar. She was a homemaker and enjoyed being active in the George L. OıNeil American Legion Auxiliary for Post 62, Eureka Chapter 2, Order of the Eastern Star, the Trinity United Methodist Church and the P.T.A. Mrs. LaBar is survived by her two daughters, Nancy Shoff and husband Carl of Plymouth, N.H., and Susan LaBar and husband Peter Hogrefe of Steamboat Springs, Colo.; a sister, Donna Washburn of Newport, N.H.; five nieces and two nephews. Mrs. LaBar is preceded in death by her husband, George I. LaBar and a brother, Wilbur Gray. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held in the Spring at the Jenkins Funeral Home, with a graveside service to follow at the Colebrook Village Cemetery. She was born in Milan on April 8, 1920, the daughter of Edwin and Dora (Wheeler) York, and had lived in Milan and Randolph all her life. She was predeceased by her husband, Glenn M. Lowe Sr. The family includes six sons, Leonard Low of Haines City, Fla., Charles Lowe of Randolph, Vernon Lowe of Duluth, Minn., Wendell Lowe of Ohio, Larry Lowe of Gorham and David Lowe of Goffstown; three daughters, Barbara Wright of South Royalton, Vt., Joyce Chaffee of Southington, Ohio, and Lillian Peabody of Berlin; 41 grandchildren; many great-great- grandchildren; one brother, Elmer York of Milan; one sister, Helen Owen of Stewartstown; and nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by a son, Glenn M. Lowe Jr., and two daughters, Virginia Richards and Jean Lowe. There are no calling hours. A memorial service was held on Saturday at Bryant Funeral Home in Gorham. Interment will be in the Randolph Cemetery at a later date. Morgan, 44, of Liverpool, N.Y., died on Monday, December 8, 2003 at his residence in Liverpool. Mr. Morgan was born on September 29, 1959 in Long Island, N.Y., the son of the late Robert and Rosemarie (Scuteri) Morgan Sr. He attended school in Colebrook, and in his youth enjoyed rock climbing and hiking. He worked in construction and environmental services, and will be remembered for his love of his children. Mr. Morgan is survived by his three children, Caterina Marie Morgan of North Syracuse, N.Y., Carrie Morgan and Jonathan Morgan; a sister, Angel Brown of Colebrook; a brother, Robert Morgan of Colebrook; and one grandchild. He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Rosemarie Morgan, who died in Tokyo, Japan, in May, 2000. There will be no calling hours. Private family services will be held at a later date. (York) Owen, 96, of Stewartstown and formerly of Stratford, died on Wednesday morning, December 10, at Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital. Mrs. Owen was born on December 13, 1906 in Milan, the daughter of the late Edwin and Dora (Wheeler) York. She was educated in the Milan school system and lived most of her adult life in Stratford. She retired from the paper mill in Groveton at the age of 64 after 31 years of employment. She moved to the Coös County Nursing Hospital in West Stewartstown a year and a half ago. She was a member of the Grange for 76 years, and was a member of the Senior Citizens for over 30 years. She spent much of her time volunteering and helping others in need. Mrs. Owen was a spirited, caring and loving woman who enjoyed knitting, crocheting, quilting, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. Mrs. Owen is survived by her son, Victor York and his wife Andrea of Winchester, Tenn.; a brother, Elmer York and his wife Joyce of Cedar Pond, N.H.; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and one on the way; one great-great- grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and a great number of friends. Mrs. Owen was preceded in death by her husband, Durwood Herbert Owen, on February 14, 1994; and by three brothers and three sisters. There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be conducted in the spring at the Stewartstown Hollow Cemetery. Mrs. Stiles was born on November 24, 1931 in Berlin, the daughter of Roy and Mertie (Lang) Coates. She was a homemaker and enjoyed working with wood, beading, making crafts and quilting. Mrs. Stiles is survived by her daughter, Regena Elliott of West Dummer; her son, Steven Stiles of West Pueblo, Colo.; her mother, Mertie Stiles of West Milan; a sister, Elaine Fontaine of Dalton; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Stiles is preceded in death by her father and her husband, Mr. Clayton "Buddy" Stiles Jr., on August 12, 2002. There will be no calling hours.
