Irene Annis WHITEFIELD — Irene Annis, 88, of Highland Avenue, passed away at Weeks Memorial Hospital on Saturday, Sept. 20, 2003 in Lancaster, after a long illness. Irene was born a daughter to Mitchel and Flossie (Taylor) Gonyaw, Feb. 7, 1915, in Lowell. A graveside service was held on Friday, Sept. 26, at 2 p.m., at the Maple Street Cemetery in Bethlehem. Karen Ann Fysh GROVETON — Karen Ann (Tisdale) Fysh, 49, of Brown Road, died at Weeks Medical Center, Lancaster, on Sept. 27, 2003. She was born in Lancaster on Sept. 14, 1954 to Delford and Rita J. (Foss) Tisdale. She had been a resident of Groveton all her life. Karen was employed by Gamm Sewing until they closed. She was also employed as a CAN. She was a graduate of Groveton High School. Mrs. Fysh is survived by her husband, Eugene “Gene” Fysh of Groveton; two sons, Marc W. Fysh of Colebrook, and Jeffrey A. Fysh of Groveton; her father, Delford Tisdale of Groveton; a brother, Cecile F. Tisdale, of Groveton; and a sister, Bonnie Gilchrist of Lewiston, Me. She also leaves five grandchildren. She was predeceased by her mother in 1990 and a brother William Tisdale. Visitations were held at Main-Armstrong Funeral Home on Monday. Services were held on Tuesday, Sept. 30, at the Funeral Home at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Peter Parent of the Groveton United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial followed at Maple Street Cemetery in Bethlehem. (Eastman) Gould, 86, died on Sept. 23, 2003, at Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital. She was born on Dec. 25, 1916, in Colebrook, the daughter of Perley and Eldora (Hammond) Eastman. She and her husband owned and operated a dairy farm for many years in the Colebrook area. After selling the farm, she was employed at Tillotson Rubber Company for a number of years and then worked for the Trinity United Methodist Church Thrift Shop in Colebrook. She loved flowers both inside and outside her home. She was also a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church and a lifetime member of the Mohawk Grange. Family members include a son, Leonard “Sonny” Gould of Mulberry, Fla.; five grandchildren, Dawn Brooks of Loudon, Jeffrey Gould of Laconia, Mike Crawford and Laurie Howe, both of Colebrook, and Ronald Crawford of Chambersberg, Penn.; 14 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. She was predeceased by her husband, Leonard Gould Sr., in 1995 and a daughter, Alice Crawford, in 2001. Calling hours were held on Friday at Jenkins Funeral Home, Colebrook. The funeral was held on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, with Pastor Priscilla Hull officiating. An interment service was held at Colebrook Village Cemetery. Nellie Ingerson LANCASTER — Nellie Ingerson, 88, formerly of Jefferson, died on Wednesday morning September 24, 2003, at the Country Village Health Care Center, Lancaster. Mrs. Ingerson was born in Jefferson on June 15, 1915, a daughter of Stephen and Bell (Walker) Sheridan. She resided there most of her life except for several years spent in Connecticut. She was very active with her church and the community. A longtime member of the Christ United Methodist Church she was involved in many of its functions. She also served as a 60-year member of the Grange. For many years she sold arts and crafts from her home in Jefferson. Her first husband was William D. Perkins of Jefferson. Her second was Robert Ingerson of Whitefield. They both predeceased her. Surviving family members include four sons, William D. Perkins Jr. of Lancaster, Leonard Perkins of Lancaster, Wayne Perkins of Virginia, Roderick Perkins of E. Hampton, Conn.; a sister, Catherine Noyes of Jefferson; 22 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren. There are no visiting hours. A graveside service in Pine Street Cemetery, Whitefield, will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. Brian Lurvey DEERING — Brian Lurvey, 48, died unexpectedly on September 24, 2003 at his job site in Harriman, New York. He was born on July 1, 1955, the son of Wayne and Eleanor “Jean” Lurvey of Berlin. Brian was employed by Green Mt. Steel Erectors. He is survived by his wife Cathy; two step-daughters, Melissa and Nicole; one granddaughter, Jade in Deering; two sisters, Denise Therrien of Manchester and Liz Shaffer of Springfield, Missouri; one brother, Mark Lurvey of Colchester, Vt.; and his mother, Jean Lurvey of Berlin. He was predeceased by his father Wayne D. Lurvey, who died on October 10, 2002. Verna St. Cyr LANCASTER — Verna St. Cyr, 83, of 83 Middle Street, died suddenly at her home on Monday morning September 22, 2003. Mrs. St. Cyr was born in Newport, on June 15, 1920, the daughter of George and Ruby (Brown) Osborn. Raised in Newport, Verna came to Lancaster in the 1930s and married Lyle Batchelder. She resided for most of her lifetime in Lancaster, spending several years in other areas including Somersworth. Lyle predeceased her and she later married Arthur St. Cyr in the late 1960s. She was a multitalented lady who was an extraordinary painter and loved to read and crochet. She also enjoyed traveling and had visited many foreign countries around the world. Family members include three daughters, Diane Mackes and Judith McKaskell both of Vero Beach, Fla., Ann Thibeault of Lancaster; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was also predeceased by Arthur and a brother Lloyd Osborn. There are no visiting hours. Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Wibbelt Jr. PITTSBURG — William F. Wibbelt Jr., 71, died on Sept. 23, 2003, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon as the result of injuries suffered when he was struck by a car on September 20 in West Stewartstown. Born May 27, 1932, in Morristown, N.J., he was a son of Wwilliam and Anna (Thorne) Wibbelt. Growing up, he served as an altar boy at St. Virgil’s Church in Morris Plains, N.J. He was a graduate of Morristown High School. He entered the Army soon after graduation and was a Korean War veteran. After his discharge, he returned to Morristown, where he joined the Plumbers & Steam Fitters Union Local 334. He held various positions in the union. Ultimately he became the business agent for the union. Mr. Wibbelt retired in 1994 and moved to Pittsburg, where he became active in North Country affairs. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, especially grouse, fishing and hiking with his dog “Pal.” Mr. Wibbelt was a life member of the National Rifle Association, and a member or a former member of The American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Family members include two daughters, Cindy Ziccarello of Whippany, N.J., and Wendy Rothchild of Mt. Olive, N.J.; a brother, Robert Wibbelt of North Carolina; his companion of 38 years, Carmine Fea of Pittsburg, and Parsippany, N.J.; and five grandchildren. Calling hours were held on Friday at Newman Funeral Home, Colebrook. A funeral mass was held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Brendan Church, Colebrook, with the Rev. Albert Bellefeuille officiating.
